Thus it was said. For example, a fertile field, if it is not sown when it is time to sow, but is left idle, it is like not being able to tolerate that. This sacred field, the source of all happiness in this life and the next, it is enough to sow the seeds of happiness continuously in all seasons, and with the plow of faith, may you cultivate the field of merit! As it is said in the sutras, If you don't do this, it would be a great pity. The supreme field, which does not even have the shadow of an ordinary field, it is not good for us to be like this, so we must always be diligent in offering to the Three Jewels. If we do so, from the power of accumulating virtue in the sacred field, the power of wisdom in the stages of the path will increase more and more, so that when listening, we will not miss the words, when thinking, we will not fail to understand the meaning, and when meditating, it will not arise in the mind. When the power of wisdom is very small, relying on the power of the field is the key instruction. Offering is not about being attached to things, but about being attached to one's own faith. As it is said, if you have faith, it is enough to offer with a mandala, water, and offerings that are not grasped by the mind, etc., and even without elaborate offerings, you can do so. Even though you have it, you cannot give it away, saying: I have no merit, I am very poor, I have no other offerings of wealth. It is like what Geshe Potowa said: Putting a little grass incense in a dirty bone bowl and saying, "This is sandalwood and camphor perfume," is like a blind man deceiving a sighted man. Phuchungwa said: "At first, I offered grass incense with a pungent smell, then I was able to offer a sweet drink of four mixtures, and now I offer fragrant offerings such as agarwood and turuka." If you despise small offerings and do not offer them, you will become such a poor person. From small gradually increasing diligence will become better and better, so you should learn from his practice. It is said that he once used twenty-two gold srangs to make incense. Great Bodhisattvas who have the power to control wealth, emanate millions of bodies, and each body emanates hundreds of thousands of hands, etc., and go to all Buddha-fields and make offerings to the Buddhas for countless eons. Those who appear to be content and have few desires say, "I am not seeking enlightenment in that way," which is truly ignorant chatter with very little knowledge of the Dharma.

From the "Cloud of Jewels Sutra," it says to listen to all the extensive offerings and services in the sutra sections, and from the depths of your heart, with supreme intention, dedicate them to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Act accordingly. Third, to the best of your ability, lovingly guide other sentient beings to take refuge. Fourth, no matter what you do or what needs you see, rely on the Three Jewels, and perform offerings and other actions that are in accordance with them. In all circumstances, do not rely on Bon and other traditions that are not in accordance with the Three Jewels, and always trust in the Three Jewels. Fifth, there are eight points: becoming a Buddhist, becoming the basis of all vows, thinning and exhausting previously accumulated karmic obscurations, accumulating vast merit, not falling into lower realms, not being obstructed by human and non-human beings, fulfilling all wishes, and quickly attaining enlightenment. First, although there are many ways to establish inner and outer distinctions, it is said that Jowo (Atisha) and Shantideva distinguish them by refuge, so one should attain refuge and not abandon it. Therefore, to be included as a Buddhist, one must sincerely believe in the Three Jewels, etc. Without this, no matter what good deeds one does, one cannot be considered a Buddhist. Second, the "Commentary on the Treasury of Knowledge" says: Those who take refuge are the gateway to all who properly take vows. Also, the "Seventy Verses on Refuge" says: A layperson taking refuge in the Three Jewels is the root of the eight precepts. This means that refuge strengthens the aspiration for Nirvana, and from this, vows arise. Third, in the "Compendium of Trainings," when explaining that refuge can purify sins, it says that the Jataka tale of the pig should be taken as an example here. It is like the son of a god who was about to be born as a pig, but because he took refuge, he was not born as a pig. Those who take refuge in the Buddha will not fall into lower realms. After abandoning the human body, they will obtain the body of a god. This is also said for the Dharma and the Sangha. Fourth, the "Perfection of Wisdom Condensed" says: If the merit of taking refuge had form, then this three realms
