Like a waterfall, it flows swiftly! Many examples have stated this. Therefore, for someone who has grasped the essence within, there is no external object that does not demonstrate impermanence. As it is said, if you contemplate it repeatedly from various angles, certainty will arise. It is useless to do just a little and fail. As Karmapa said, "You say you've contemplated but haven't achieved anything. When did you contemplate? During the day, you're busy and distracted, and at night, you're asleep. That's just nonsense!" As it is said. At the end of life, the Lord of Death will destroy you and you will go to the next world. Moreover, in the meantime, life is constantly diminishing, and there is never a time when it doesn't flow. So, from the moment of conception, not even for a moment do you remain; you are always facing the next life. Therefore, the intermediate life is also led by the messenger of old age, and it only ends in death. So, do not be happy thinking that you can stay in this world without going to the next life while you are alive. For example, just as when falling from the top of a high cliff, you should not be happy while flying in the air before you hit the ground. As it is said. As quoted in the commentary on the Four Hundred Verses: "The hero of men, on the first night, for whom the world dwells in the womb, from then on, every day, without delay, goes to the presence of the Lord of Death." Third, even if you can do that much, you should not be idle. As it is said in the Entering the Womb Sutra: "In the first ten years of childhood, you will not find the thought of practicing Dharma, and in the final twenty years of old age, you will not have the power to practice Dharma. And in the time in between, half of the time is taken by sleep, and diseases and other things also consume much time. So, there is little opportunity to practice Dharma." In this way, all the perfections of this life, like enjoying happiness in a single dream and then remembering it upon waking, will become merely objects of memory at the time of death. The enemy of death will surely come, so why be happy with the false allurements of this life? You should think in this way, resolve to definitely practice Dharma, and make many vows. As it is said in the Jataka Tales: "Alas, the afflictions of the world, are impermanent and bring sorrow. Even the glory of this white lotus, will only become an object of memory." Second, from today onwards
