Should be practiced. Second, first think about the benefits of relying on (a spiritual teacher) and the faults of not relying on them. Then, in order to prevent the mind from arising that observes the faults of the lama, generate a lot of protective mind. For the merits of discipline and samadhi, etc., whatever you understand, think about them until faith with a pure appearance arises, and then practice. After that, for the kindness of those who have benefited you and will benefit you, think as the sutra quoted earlier says, until respect arises from the bottom of your heart, and then practice. Third, through the "Excellent Conduct Prayer" and the "Seventy Aspiration Prayers," etc., dedicate the accumulated merits with strong intention to the temporary and ultimate places of aspiration. Like this, morning, forenoon, afternoon, and evening, practice in four sessions. Among them, at first, if the time is long, it is easy to be influenced by sinking and agitation, and if you get used to that, the mind is difficult to tame, so the sessions should be short and the number should be many. If you interrupt when you want to practice, you will want to enter practice every time later. Otherwise, as someone said, you will feel nauseous when you see the bed. After it becomes a little stable, you can extend the sessions. All of these should be practiced without the fault of being too tight or too loose, so that obstacles can be reduced and excessive fatigue and drowsiness can be calmed. Second, in general, there are many prostrations, circumambulations, and recitations, etc., but the most important thing is to strive for the essence of the session. During the breaks between sessions, if you do not rely on mindfulness and awareness and let it go wild, then the growth is very small. Therefore, during the breaks between sessions, you should also look at the teachings that show that, and repeatedly remember them. Accumulate the favorable conditions for generating merit from many sources, and also eliminate adverse conditions and obstacles from many sources. The basis of everything is to protect the precepts you have promised. In addition, you should also study the four accumulations that easily generate the path of tranquility and insight, namely, guarding the doors of the senses: relying on the object and the sense consciousness, after the six consciousnesses arise, protect the mind consciousness from generating attachment and aversion to the six agreeable and disagreeable objects. Acting with awareness: as stated in the "Entering the Bodhisattva's Way of Life":

Regarding the state of earth and mind, one should repeatedly examine. In short, that is the characteristic of guarding mindfulness. As it is said, whatever actions of body and so on one engages in, one should practice after knowing whether the action is appropriate or not. Knowing the measure of food is to avoid eating too much or too little, and to eat in moderation so as not to harm virtuous deeds. Furthermore, by meditating on the faults of attachment to food, one should eat with a non-afflicted mind, for the benefit of the donors, for the body's worms now gathered with clutter, and in the future gathered with Dharma, and with the intention to accomplish the benefit of all sentient beings. One should also remember what is said in the Letter to a Friend: With reason, regard food as medicine, Use it without greed or hatred, Not for fatness, not for pride, Not for beauty, but only to sustain this body. Thus it is said. How to strive in yoga without sleeping, and what to do when sleeping? The Letter to a Friend says: The wise one, all day long, and at night after the upper and lower watches have passed, Even when sleeping, do not let it be fruitless, contemplate with mindfulness in between. Thus it is said, so how should one act during the whole day and the upper and lower parts of the night, during the session and after the session? One should make it meaningful by walking and sitting, and by completely subduing the five obscurations. The posture of sleeping is the session interval, so it should not be left meaningless. Among these, the bodily conduct is, dividing the night into three parts, in the middle part, lying on the right side, placing the left foot on top of the right foot, sleeping like a lion. Mindfulness is, for the virtuous deeds that one is most accustomed to during the day, mindfulness should be maintained until falling asleep. Thus, even when falling asleep, one can cultivate virtuous practices such as samadhi as if not asleep. Mindfulness is, when practicing mindfulness, if any affliction arises, one should recognize it, and instead of accepting it, one should abandon it. The intention to rise is to generate the thought, "I should rise at this time." Thus, apart from the special methods of cultivation during the main practice, the preliminary and
