Thus, clinging to that, you vehemently condemn it. As it is said. Similarly, in the Ratnavali it is said: Thus, self and no-self, are not truly perceived as they are. The views of self and no-self, therefore, are rejected by the Great Hero. As it is said, both self and no-self are not truly established, therefore, it is a rejection of seeing those two as truly existent, but it does not prevent seeing no-self. As the previous debate stated, if it is not the no-self established by its own nature, then it will become the self established by its own nature. These are from the Samadhiraja Sutra: Even if one thinks that these aggregates are empty, the Bodhisattva does not engage in characteristics, and does not believe in the unborn state. As it is said, and in the Great Mother Sutra: If one engages in form emptiness and no-self, then one engages in characteristics, and does not engage in the Perfection of Wisdom. The meaning of these sayings is also to take emptiness etc. as true. If it is not like that, then it is not reasonable to say: Do not believe in the unborn state. Because believing in that will also become engaging in characteristics. And in the same sutra it says: Those who fully know that all dharmas are without self-nature, this is the supreme practice of the Perfection of Wisdom. And, when conditioned and unconditioned, and white and black dharmas, are well analyzed by wisdom, and not even a particle is seen, then in all the worlds there is the name of the Perfection of Wisdom. And, in the Samadhiraja Sutra it also says: If one separately contemplates no-self in all dharmas, and after separately contemplating, if there is one who meditates on that, that is the cause for obtaining the fruit of Nirvana, whatever other cause there is, it will not pacify. As it is said, and in the Heart Sutra of the Perfection of Wisdom it also says: Shariputra, if a Bodhisattva wants to practice the profound Perfection of Wisdom, how should he train? In response to the question, Avalokiteshvara said: Those five aggregates should also be truly viewed as empty of their own nature. There are many such sayings, which would be contradictory. Therefore, in the Praise of Dharmadhatu it says: The supreme mind is the trainer, the dharma is without self-nature. And, because of clinging to I and mine, as long as external objects are conceptualized, if one sees the two aspects of no-self, then the seed of existence.

will cease. As it is said in the Bodhisattvacharyavatara: "Therefore, by viewing the emptiness of self and what belongs to self, the yogi will be liberated." It should be understood as such, and the continuous practice of the definitive understanding of selflessness and absence of inherent existence should be maintained. Here, in the first chapter of the Stages of Meditation, it says: "From the dharani of entering into non-conceptualization, by not attending to the mind, one abandons the characteristics of form, etc." What is said refers to the fact that when one examines with wisdom, whatever is unfindable, one does not attend to the mind in that unfindable place, but it is not merely the absence of attending to the mind. Like those who enter into the meditative absorption of non-perception, it is not merely by abandoning the attachment and attention to form, etc., from beginningless time that one abandons them. The scriptures say that by meditating on non-attention, one abandons the grasping of characteristics. All of these refer to the fact that by examining with the wisdom of proper attention, one realizes that even a particle of the object of grasping at truth cannot be found, and one abides in the meaning of realizing this. In the intermediate chapter of the Stages of Meditation, it also says: "Whatever the mind is, when searched for, it is realized to be empty. Whatever mind realizes, when thoroughly searched for in its essence, it is also realized to be empty. Having realized this, one enters into the yoga of no characteristics." This shows that sending forth thorough investigation is what leads to entering into the state of no characteristics. It has been very clearly shown that it is impossible to enter into the state of non-conceptualization merely by completely abandoning attention to the mind, or by not examining the essence of things with wisdom. As it is said in the Jewel Cloud Sutra, if one does not gain the view of suchness through proper examination, it is impossible to enter into the non-conceptual state of the meaning of suchness. In the final chapter of the Stages of Meditation, it says: "Inconceivable and beyond the mind," etc., which is to negate the self-conceit of realizing the profound meaning merely by hearing and thinking about it. Therefore, it is shown that these are to be known by each individual noble being, and are inconceivable to others. Furthermore, it is also said to negate the grasping of the profound meaning as truly existent and not attending to it properly. It is not to prevent proper examination with the wisdom of individual analysis. If one prevents proper examination, then reason and scripture
