Now, since there is nothing to be negated, it appears clearly without obstruction in reality. Other Mind-Only schools believe that the emptiness arising from negating the self of phenomena on the object of negation is truly established. However, our own school believes that since there is no self of phenomena to be negated, the negation of that negation is not truly established. Thus, saying that negating arising and so on ultimately is conventional means that it exists in the conventional, not that it shows it to be conventional. Also, in that very text, it says that when things like arising appear in reality, they do not appear, just like false conventionality. Similarly, negating arising and so on in reality also becomes false conventionality, because the object of negation does not appear when the object appears. In response to the above, it is not that it does not appear, because it is not different from the nature of the object. Just as when blue appears, it is said that its emptiness of truth appears, this does not mean that the mere distinction of negating what truly exists appears to the eye consciousness and so on, but rather it refers to non-negation. Like that, even if it is a characteristic of conventionality, the emptiness that merely cuts off truth does not contradict ultimate truth. The Ornament of the Middle Way says that negating arising and so on ultimately belongs to the true conventional, but because it is in accordance with the ultimate, it is spoken of there. The ultimate is said to be abandoning all networks of elaboration, such as things existing or not existing. Regarding the network of elaboration, the Self-Commentary on the Two Truths says: Therefore, it is not empty, not non-empty, not existent nor non-existent, not unborn nor born, thus the Bhagavan spoke. Why is that? Because it is without elaboration. It is completely free from all networks of concepts. Just as the network of concepts is said to be the network of elaboration. Moreover, that also disappears in the face of directly realizing suchness, so that is the ultimate reality. And the intellect and object that have not become like that are in accordance with the previous one. Also, regarding the true negation of arising and so on, there are both the intellect that negates it and the object to be measured by it, so the way in which it belongs to the true conventional should also be understood from that. The way in which all networks of elaboration of the two truths are said to be free is very necessary in many instances. Third, if a certain basis is completely determined to be the meaning of false deception, then

Therefore, it is necessary to determine the meaning of deception. Deception and non-deception are contradictions that exist mutually exclusively. It pervades all knowable things in a mutually exclusive way, thus precluding a third possibility. Therefore, it should be known with certainty that knowable things are numerically fixed in the two truths. In the Sutra of the Meeting of Father and Son, it is also said: "Thus, the Tathagata has comprehended the conventional truth and the ultimate truth, and what is to be known is exhausted in the truth of the conventional truth and the ultimate truth." Thus, it is proclaimed that all that is knowable is contained within the two truths. In the Samadhi Sutra of the Noble One, the Determination of Suchness, it is also said: "Whatever is conventional is also ultimate; there is no third truth." Thus, it is clearly proclaimed that the number of truths is fixed at two. If one understands the distinction between the two truths, one will not be confused about the teachings of the Sage; if one does not understand, one will not understand the teachings themselves. Moreover, it must be understood as established by the Protector Nagarjuna. As it is said in the Entering the Middle Way: "Outside the path of the Teacher Nagarjuna, there is no method of pacification for the outsiders. Because what they consider conventional is itself deviated from the truth, and deviating from the truth will not lead to liberation. The nominal truth becomes the means, and the ultimate truth becomes what is born from the means. If someone does not understand the difference between these two, then they will enter the wrong path due to inverted conceptualization." Therefore, it is extremely important for those who desire liberation to be skilled in the two truths. Second, as previously explained, having obtained the view of realizing the two selflessnesses from relying on the accumulation of higher insight, one should cultivate higher insight. So, what kind of higher insight is there? Here, the higher insights of high levels are not mainly shown, but the higher insight to be cultivated during the time of ordinary beings is mainly shown. If the divisions of its higher insight are completed, then there are the higher insights of the four natures, the three doors, and the six seekings. The four are the four, such as differentiation, spoken of in the Explanation of Intentions. Among them, differentiation refers to focusing on how many objects there are. Extreme differentiation refers to focusing on how the objects are. The first has two types: general investigation and general analysis. The second also has two types: investigation and analysis, which distinguish between coarse and subtle meanings.
