Therefore, even when the object to be refuted and the refuter are combined, there is no refutation, and even when the object to be refuted and the refuter are not combined, there is no refutation, because both the object to be refuted and the refuter are not established by their own nature. Therefore, one should not have the thought of combination or non-combination. Thus, the reason why the logical examination established by the realist teacher is not permissible is that it establishes the non-establishment of self-nature, but does not establish the absence of acceptance. Moreover, as a means of knowing this, the sutra of the scripture section is quoted. Shariputra asked: "Ravana! With which of the dharmas of birth and non-birth does one attain the dharma of non-birth?" When he asked after examining in this way, both of them prevented attainment. Shariputra asked: "If so, is there no attainment or realization?" As quoted earlier, although those two exist, they are not in the manner of two. That also exists in conventional truth, but does not exist in ultimate truth. He said, making such a metaphor, and said that he accepted it in this way. The commentary on Entering the Middle Way says: "How does this become a fault of two? Therefore, it prevents attainment by the dharma of birth or non-birth, and since the two are also unreasonable for non-existent things, it accepts attainment in the conventional language of the world without examination. Similarly, although the object to be refuted and the refuter are not combined or not combined, in conventional truth, it should be known that the refuter refutes the object to be refuted." Thus, if one examines the logic of combination and non-combination, there is no refutation in either of them, but since it does not prevent the existence of a refuter, it is necessary to accept the refutation of the other's position in conventional truth. Therefore, it is clearly stated. Not only that, but it is also accepted that the reason establishes the object to be established. Immediately after the previously quoted passage, it is also said: "How do you see the differences that exist in the solar disk, such as Rahu's grasping, etc., also in the image? Although it is unreasonable for the sun and the image to be combined or not combined as different entities, only a nominal name arises based on them, and although it is not true, it is for the purpose of accomplishing the beauty of one's own appearance. Just as that exists, so here too, one should know the face of wisdom, the reason for seeing the ability to tame."

It should also be known that the object to be realized can be realized even from the absence of bondage. Just like an image, because it is not something that exists even slightly, the thought that it arises by touching or not touching the sun's disc is impossible in all cases. However, just as when the cause and condition of the image are close, and one grasps the image, one can ascertain the meaning that one wishes to realize. By refuting self-nature, one refutes the object to be refuted and the refuter, and by establishing what is to be established with a reason that is empty of self-nature and devoid of reason. It will not become a fault of both, so it should be known that one's own words should not have the same fault. Thus, the answer that does not allow the head of reason to be turned back on oneself is stated in this way, but it is not said that there is no own system. Furthermore, for those who believe that cause and effect are established by their own nature, the fault of applying the investigation of whether the cause touches or does not touch and produces the effect does not apply to oneself, and it is avoided by taking the absence of self-nature as the reason, not by avoiding it by saying that there is no own system. As it is said in the Commentary on Entering the Middle Way: 'How do you say that? Because both of these are like illusions, they are not a fault for me, and there are also worldly things.' In what way? For what is to be produced and what produces with its own characteristics, there will be investigation. In what way? For the nature of things that are produced by inverted conceptualization, like illusions, are unborn and without self-nature, but like hairs seen by those with cataracts, they become objects of conceptualization, which is inconceivable. Therefore, I do not have the occasion for the faults mentioned above, and worldly things that are established without investigation also exist, so everything is accomplished. Thus, it is established that the reason for applying faults to others is the acceptance of self-characteristics, and in order to explain that one does not have that fault, it is said that it is like an illusion. Therefore, having understood this, one should know how to establish the Madhyamaka system as free from faults. In general, from the definitive scriptures and the Madhyamaka treatises, this is like this, and this is not like this.
