Therefore, we say that there is no one who wishes to refute the conventional meanings. Secondly, by examining whether or not it is established by valid cognition, it is not possible to refute, because the acceptance of form, etc., does not mean that they are not established by valid cognition, but that they are established by valid cognition. So, how can the statement "All worldly things are not valid cognition" be justified? This is because it prevents the knowledge of the worldly eye, etc., from being valid cognition on the ultimate truth, but it does not prevent it from being valid cognition on all objects. As it is said in the commentary on the Engaging in the Bodhisattva's Deeds: "Thus, in thinking about the ultimate truth, only the noble ones are valid cognition, and the non-noble ones are not. If one wants to express the harm of the world, and also accepts the worldly view as valid cognition when distinguishing the ultimate truth, then that is indeed the case. If the world is valid cognition, then it is enough for the worldly people to see it themselves, why would other noble ones be needed? What is the use of the path of the noble ones? Fools cannot be valid cognition either." And in the subsequent commentary, it says: "If the ultimate truth can be determined only by the eye, etc., then in order to understand the path of the noble ones, striving for discipline, listening, thinking, and meditation, etc., will become meaningless, but that is not the case. Therefore, 'All worldly things are not valid cognition, therefore, in the case of the ultimate truth, there is no harm to the world.'" In the commentary on the Sixty Stanzas of Reasoning, it is also established that "thinking that they exist is not seeing the ultimate truth." Therefore, the Blessed One quoted "The eye, ear, and nose are also not valid cognition," etc., therefore, it is very clear that it prevents it from being valid cognition on the special object, the ultimate truth, but not that it is not valid cognition on other objects. If this is not done, it will become irrelevant, if it is said that the knowledge of the eye, etc., is valid cognition on form, sound, etc., in the conventional sense, then in order to see the ultimate truth, there is no need to seek the noble path, which is like saying that if the knowledge of the eye knows form, then the ear for hearing sound becomes meaningless. If it is said that seeking the noble path in order to see form, sound, etc., becomes meaningless, then that is exactly what we want, therefore, what is not wanted?
