It is not the realization of no self-nature, then what is it? It is naturally focusing on the appearance of things in this world, because they have not seen them coming here from other worlds, nor have they seen them going from this world to other worlds, so they slander other things similar to the things focused on in this world. It is said. If the reasons of the Madhyamaka and the nihilistic views are not the same, even so, it is the same because of realizing that karma and its effects and previous and future lives do not have self-nature established by their own entity. If it is thought that this view of no self-nature is the same, this is also not the same. Because they think that no self-nature is completely non-existent, so they do not admit either of the two truths. The Madhyamaka school admits that karma and its effects exist in the conventional truth. In the Clear Words it says: If that is the case, even so, because they realize that the self-entity of things is not existent, but non-existent. If for the time being there is similarity in terms of this view, it does not exist. Because the Madhyamaka school admits that it exists in the conventional truth. Because they do not admit it, it is not the same. It is said. Therefore, this shows that the Madhyamaka school, which does not admit karma and its effects even in the conventional truth, has the same view as the Lokayata. Here, the teacher did not say that the reason for not being different from the nihilistic view is that "he has acceptance and I do not," nor did he say, "They think there is nothing, but we do not say that there is nothing like that, but think that it is not existent," but said no self-nature, and established dependent origination as its reason, and said that those establishments are recognized in the conventional truth. If it is acceptable that karma and its effects do not have self-nature established by their own entity, and the nihilistic view also thinks that those are non-existent, since they think that those are without self-nature, if it is thought that the Madhyamaka school is the same in terms of no self-nature, this is also extremely different. For example, to a person who steals property, one person says in a false tone, "This is what he stole," without knowing that he stole it, and one person says, "This is what he stole," after seeing that the thief stole the property, then both of them say, "This property is what he stole," like a thief.

That also stole, but one lies and the other speaks the truth, just as they are not the same. That is also said in the Commentary on the Clear Words: If the objects are the same, if they are the same even though the objects are not established, they are not the same because the perceivers are different. For example, regarding a person who has stolen, one person does not really know, and because he is not friendly with him, he slanders him, saying that this person has stolen, while another person sees it directly and exposes him. In that case where there is no difference in the object, because the perceivers are different, one is said to be lying and the other is said to be speaking the truth. For one person, if examined correctly, it becomes not famous and without fault, but for another person, it is not the same. Here too, just as the own nature of things is, if one understands and speaks, then understanding and speaking together with those who do not understand the own nature of things are not the same. That is what was said. This refutes some who, when they understand emptiness as without inherent existence, think that karma and its effects are obstructed by reason, and that cause and effect cannot be established, and who, although they have wrongly entered into the conventional aspect of appearance, say that they have found a view of emptiness that is not mistaken. Therefore, there must be an emptiness that does not fall into the emptiness of the empty of function, but although it is without inherent existence, there is a place to establish the dependent arising of cause and effect. As the commentary on the Four Hundred says: If that is the case, then what is the meaning? For birth, there is no coming, and likewise, for cessation, there is no going. Therefore, it must be without inherent existence. If it is without inherent existence, then what is there? It should be said: There is that which is the nature of dependent arising, which is caused by affliction and purification. That is what was said, and this clearly answers the question of what there is after that if there is no inherent existence. The teacher Buddhapalita also clearly distinguished the difference between existence and establishment by own nature, and then gave an answer. As the commentary on the Twenty Stanzas says: He said: If there is no time, and no cause and effect and collection, then what else is there? Therefore, that is to say that there is nothing. He explained: No.
