Because there is no inherent existence, it is not reasonable to say that it is not appropriate to negate the inherent existence of all things. If it is established by inherent existence, it does not depend on causes and conditions; if it depends on causes and conditions, it is pervaded by non-inherent existence, with following and returning; and the words of non-inherent existence can perform the activities of negation and affirmation, which has been very clearly explained. Needless to say, depending on causes and conditions, the arising and ceasing of defiled and purified dharmas, dependent origination and non-inherent existence, gather on the same basis. Such dependent origination itself becomes the supreme reason for realizing non-inherent existence, which should be understood as the characteristic of only the wise Madhyamikas. If one clings to the things that arise and cease depending on something, pervaded by being established by their own entity, then if one negates the dependent origination of arising and ceasing with the reasoning of negating inherent existence, it is like a god descending into a demon, becoming a great obstacle to obtaining the meaning of Madhyamaka as it is. Thus, if one obtains certainty that there is not even a particle of inherent existence established by its own entity in dharmas, then for the relationship of cause and effect, one must transfer the certainty of one's own school to other schools, etc.; if one obtains the certainty of one's own school well for cause and effect, then for non-inherent existence, one loses the opportunity to obtain certainty by one's own school. If one still says that one understands non-inherent existence, know that one has not yet obtained the view of Madhyamaka. In order to obtain the view, one must first take guarding pure morality as the basis, strive to accumulate merit and purify obscurations in various ways, and rely on the wise, diligently engaging in listening and thinking. Like this, generating certainty for appearance and emptiness, the gathering of the two only becomes an extreme of existence, considering that the view of Madhyamaka is very difficult to obtain, therefore, in the twenty-fourth chapter of the Root Wisdom, it says: "Therefore, the weak one, with this dharma, knowing that it is difficult to understand the profound, the heart of the Sugata completely turned away from teaching the dharma." And in the Precious Garland it also says: "For a while, this body is impure, coarse and an object of direct experience, when it always appears, it does not dwell in the mind, at that time the supreme dharma has no place to dwell, subtle, profound, and not directly experienced."

How can such profound Dharma easily enter the mind? Because this Dharma is profound, beings find it difficult to understand. Therefore, after the Buddha attained enlightenment, he considered abandoning teaching the Dharma. The scriptures state that this Dharma is extremely difficult to comprehend. It is not the case that some valid treatises state that by analyzing whether a vase and its components are the same or different, one can determine the absence of inherent existence. If one misunderstands this meaning, when analyzing the mouth, neck, and other components of a vase, and cannot find any of them, one concludes that there is no vase. Then, if the analyzer analyzes himself in the same way, he will also conclude that there is no analyzer. At that time, if the analyzer cannot be found, who will think that there are no vases, etc.? Therefore, one says that it is neither existent nor non-existent. Like this, taking a mistaken conclusion based on seemingly logical reasoning as a view seems to be the easiest thing to do. Therefore, those with intelligence should understand from the definitive meaning scriptures and the Madhyamaka treatises that explain them, that the meaning of emptiness is the meaning of dependent origination, which is a characteristic of Madhyamaka scholars. In particular, the subtle points where Acharya Buddhapalita and Aryadeva explained the intentions of the Holy Father and Son (Nagarjuna and Aryadeva) without omission. One should gain an unwavering conviction that others cannot refute regarding how to establish the absence of inherent existence based on dependent origination, and how things that are empty of inherent existence appear as cause and effect. Secondly, the way in which that system refutes the above view is as follows: Thus, in the system of the Protector Nagarjuna, all phenomena do not have even a particle of inherent existence established by their own nature, and if they were established by their own nature, all the establishments of samsara and nirvana would be impossible. Since it is impossible not to establish these establishments, it is necessary to accept the absence of inherent existence in order to establish all establishments such as bondage and liberation. However, you think that if things do not have inherent existence established by their own nature, then what else is there? Therefore, in order to refute bondage, liberation, birth, and cessation, etc., there is no need to add the distinction of ultimate truth, etc., because inherent existence
