I, in various aspects, like jewels inlaid, with clear light, in their respective meanings, those qualities are powerful, this wisdom greatly accomplishes. The differences of each sense faculty in its own realm, other powers are clearly shown as desired. Thus. Likewise, for other faculties such as faith, wisdom itself is the main one. If there is a protector of wisdom, one will know well the faults and virtues of generosity, faith, and so on, such as stinginess, and will become skilled in the means of exhausting afflictions and increasing virtues. The aspect of faculties such as faith is also: In other faculties, wisdom is the main one, like the mind. Because one possesses its protector and knows virtues and faults, one becomes skilled in the manner of exhausting afflictions. Thus. Even if a Bodhisattva gives flesh to a beggar, like taking from a medicinal tree, he will not be transformed by discriminations such as pride and timidity, because wisdom has directly realized that very nature. Because wisdom sees the decline of existence and peace, and because discipline is accomplished for the sake of others, it makes discipline completely pure. Having understood the faults and virtues of impatience and patience through wisdom, and having tamed the mind, one will not be robbed by wrong practices and suffering. Having well understood the basis upon which to exert effort through wisdom, and exerting effort upon it, the determination of the path is great. The supreme joy and bliss of meditative concentration, which abides in the meaning of that very nature, is accomplished by wisdom that relies on the reasoning of logic. Therefore, making the five, such as generosity, completely pure depends on wisdom. When the eye of wisdom is clear and fully opened, even if a Bodhisattva gives his own flesh, like a medicinal tree, he will not discriminate, and there will be no transformation into high or low. Thus. If one does not cultivate discipline for one's own sake, the wise see the faults of the prison of existence. Since all the world is possessed by demons, what need is there to say that one does not cultivate for the sake of existence? Thus. Harm does not transform those who possess wisdom, because they have the virtue of patience. Just as the best of extremely gentle elephants endure various kinds of work, so it is. Making effort alone is the end of fatigue. If protected by the friend of wisdom, great benefit is accomplished. Thus.

Such meditation, endowed with supreme bliss and joy, how can it be accomplished in the minds of those inferior beings who are defiled by accumulated faults and great sins, and who rely on the reasoning of misguided paths? Thus it is said. To prove that two seemingly contradictory qualities are not contradictory when endowed with wisdom: When a Bodhisattva becomes a universal monarch ruling over the four continents, he is not controlled by the objects of desire, which is due to the power of having a wise minister. Similarly, even if strong love arises for sentient beings, it is not mixed with the slightest attachment; even if unbearable compassion arises for the suffering of sentient beings, one is not overwhelmed by sorrow and does not lose interest in virtue; even if one has immeasurable joy, one is not frivolous because the mind is distracted from its object; even if one constantly has great equanimity, one is not distracted for a moment from the benefit of beings, which is done by wisdom. Because wisdom prevents the obstacles that make it difficult to achieve these qualities equally. Thus it is said: The Bodhisattvas who possess sense objects like divine substances and have great royal power, their nature does not change in an irrational way, which is also due to the power of having a minister with the qualities of wisdom. For the single-minded love that benefits others, the contamination of desire is completely abandoned; for the unbearable compassion for the suffering of others, one is not lowered by laziness due to the burden of sorrow; even if one has supreme joy, one is not truly distracted; one is not distracted from the benefit of beings, having great equanimity; these qualities and their antidotes are blocked by great wisdom, thus appearing particularly beautiful. Thus it is said. Furthermore, in the 'Praise of the Praiseworthy,' it says: One does not abandon the nature of reality, and one also conforms to convention. As it is said, for the object of clinging to characteristics, one is certain that not even a particle is established, thus there is no need to abandon the nature of reality; for the arising of individual results from internal and external causes and conditions, one is certain from the depths of one's heart, thus it is not contradictory to and conforms to convention. What is extremely contradictory to others is not contradictory and conforms to those with wisdom. Also, in that same text, it says: Regarding permission and prohibition, your words are certain in some aspects, and uncertain in some aspects, but there is no contradiction between them.
