One should practice these methods of cultivation as the object of aspiration. For the methods of diligent practice for beginners, one should also strive according to one's ability. In particular, one should well prevent the objects to be abandoned of uncommon diligence, which are discouragement. And, in order to attain Bodhi, in order to accomplish benefits, to accomplish and eliminate the happiness and suffering of all sentient beings. For wearing the armor of diligence with joy, that is, thinking that the time is very long, accumulating boundless accumulations, and experiencing countless hardships, just by generating such a great thought, one can accumulate great merit, as stated in the "Sutra Requested by Excellent Hand," so one should strive. If one does not do so, the power of the lineage will never increase, and one will often be stained by many misdeeds. In other lifetimes, it will also become very difficult to learn the conduct of a Bodhisattva. Having understood these, even if one has not realized them as they are, one should incline one's mind towards them and initiate diligence to the best of one's ability. As stated in the "Sutra Requested by Excellent Hand," in other lifetimes, with little effort, one can effortlessly and quickly perfect the perfection of diligence. There are five points to learning the perfection of meditation: the nature of meditation, the method of entering into meditation practice, the classification of meditation, how to practice during practice, and the summary of these contents. The first point is: the virtuous one-pointed mind that does not stray from the object of focus and abides in one place. In the "Bodhisattva Ground" it says: For the category of Bodhisattvas, the Bodhisattvas who precede hearing and thinking, the virtuous one-pointed mind of the mundane and supramundane, the mind abides, the aspect of tranquility or the aspect of insight or the aspect of union, the path that enters into either of these two aspects. This should be understood as the nature of the meditation of the Bodhisattvas. In the "Entering the Path of the Bodhisattva" it also says: Having generated diligence in this way, one should place the mind in samadhi. The second point is: thinking about the benefits of practicing meditation and the faults of not practicing, which will be explained during the practice of tranquility. The classification is: as quoted earlier, from the perspective of nature, it is divided into mundane and supramundane, and from the perspective of aspects

Although there are three types of Samadhi, distinguished by their function, there is the Samadhi that brings happiness to body and mind in this life, the Samadhi that accomplishes qualities, and the Samadhi that benefits sentient beings. The first of these is the Samadhi that, when one abides in it, generates extreme pliancy of body and mind. The second is the Samadhi that accomplishes qualities common to the Hearers, such as supernormal cognition, liberation, cessation, and subjugation. The third is the Samadhi that accomplishes the eleven purposes of benefit. How to do it? No matter what kind of virtuous Samadhi is practiced, it should be practiced with the six perfections and related to the six paramitas. Abiding in Samadhi oneself and placing others in it is the giving of Samadhi. The rest should be understood as explained before. Summary of the meaning: The basis of practice is generating Bodhicitta, remembering and meditating, which is the motivation for learning in order to place all sentient beings in uncontaminated Samadhi. Therefore, steadily expand it and train by making the higher Samadhis the object of aspiration. Even if you cannot generate perfect Samadhi, you should always strive to practice one-pointed Samadhi as much as possible, and do not give up effort. If you do not do so, you will be constantly stained by the fault of violating the precepts, and in other lifetimes it will be very difficult to learn the precepts of Bodhisattvas entering the many gates of Samadhi. If you do so, then in this life also the mind will be less and less distracted, the accumulated merits will be more powerful, and as stated in the Sutra Requested by Sagaramati, it will be easy to perfect the Paramita of Samadhi because you have happiness of body and mind and joy of mind. These will be explained in great detail in the chapter on Tranquility, so I will not elaborate here. There are five points to learning the Prajnaparamita: the nature of Prajna, the method of entering into generating it, the detailed classification of Prajna, how to do it at the time of practice, and the summary of the meaning of these. The first point is that, in general, Prajna is what thoroughly and completely distinguishes dharmas in the objects of observation. In this case, it refers to being skilled in the five sciences, etc.

of wisdom. In the Bodhisattva-bhumi, it says: "That which enters into all knowable things and, having entered into all knowable things, thoroughly distinguishes dharmas, that is, entering with the five sciences as its object, namely, the inner science among the five sciences, the science of reasoning, the science of healing, the science of grammar, and the science of crafts and occupations, this should be understood as the very nature of the wisdom of the bodhisattvas." Thus it is said. Among these, the wisdom of entering is before obtaining the ground, and having entered is after obtaining the ground. The second is, contemplating the benefits of generating wisdom and the faults of not generating it. Among these, the benefits and faults of the presence or absence of the wisdom of truly knowing selflessness will be explained in the chapter on insight, so I will not elaborate here, but will briefly say a little. First, showing the benefits, which are the root of all qualities of this life and the next. Lord Nagarjuna said: "The seen and unseen qualities, the root of all is wisdom. Thus, in order to accomplish both, one should take up wisdom completely. The great source of dharma, meaning, desire, and liberation is wisdom. Thus, first with respect, one should take up the great mother of wisdom." Thus it is said. Wisdom is like the eye of the five, such as generosity. In the Compendium it says: "When one is completely seized by wisdom, then one obtains the eye and obtains this name. For example, the work of painting is completed, but without eyes, just as one does not receive payment until the eyes are painted." Thus it is said. The way in which qualities are needed for others is: For example, just as an ornament made of fine gold, if adorned with decorations such as precious Indranila, is even more captivating than before. The five golden ornaments from generosity to meditation, if connected with the decoration of wisdom that can distinguish between what is reasonable and unreasonable, will become extremely wonderful, because this makes the five, such as generosity, most pure. It is like the five senses, such as the eye, for their respective objects, the mind's consciousness distinguishes good and bad and then engages or disengages. Also, Glorious Hero said: "These merits, such as generosity, accompanied by the protector of wisdom, become especially powerful. The golden ornam
