If unpleasant words, Do not harm the body, Why is your mind so angry? Thus it is said. Geshe Sharawa said: No matter how much I respectfully offered to Khamlungpa, Neu Zurpa, and Drakpa, it was no different from speaking to stones, so I felt at ease. The later ones, because their ears were shallow, felt uneasy. Also, if you say "this and that" to Gya Shen-ton, you should give even to robbers. You should confess the slandering you have done. Also to the yogi Sherab Dorje, people said that there were also disputes between us. The yogi replied: Yes, people's words are originally directed at people, otherwise who would they be directed at? From then on, the act of sowing discord was completely cut off. If you are insulted, etc., and you think that you are unhappy because others do not like you, even if others do not like you and it really harms you, you should accept it. But that will not affect you in any way, so you should abandon unhappiness. Others do not like me, That will not in this life or the next, Devour me, Why do I dislike that? Thus it is said. Although dislike does not harm me, if it hinders the attainment of benefits from them, so I am angry at insults, slanders, and speaking unpleasant words, then even if I obtain benefits, I must leave them here. Because the sin of being angry at that will follow me, it is better to die quickly without benefits than to live long through wrong livelihood. Even if I obtain benefits and live long, I cannot escape death, and I must die eventually. At the time of death, enjoying happiness for a hundred years and enjoying happiness for about a year are the same. Because both are only objects of memory, and at that time there is no difference between happiness and suffering. For example, just as there is no difference between happiness and unhappiness when waking up from experiencing happiness for a hundred years and experiencing happiness for a short time in a dream. Thinking in this way, if attachment to gain and respect disappears, you will not be unhappy with insults and unpleasant words, etc. Because you do not seek to be special in the eyes of others, even if you are not special, the peace of mind will not disappear. Like this: Because it hinders gain, If I do not like this, I would rather abandon the gain here, But sin will remain firmly.

I would rather die today than live a long and miserable life. Even if I were to live long like me, I would still die and not escape the suffering of death. Having enjoyed a hundred years of happiness in a dream, what is it like when you wake up? What is it like when someone else enjoys a moment of happiness and then wakes up? After waking up, in both of these situations, that happiness is gone. Both long life and short life are the same when death comes. Having obtained many possessions and enjoyed happiness for a long time, it is like being robbed by thieves, leaving empty-handed and naked. That's all. Second, refuting the dislike of enemies' prosperity and the joy of their decline: In order to accomplish the benefit and happiness of sentient beings, after generating Bodhicitta, one becomes angry at sentient beings themselves for gaining happiness, and says that one wants all sentient beings to attain Buddhahood, but is unhappy when they receive only a little gain and respect. This is very contradictory. Therefore, one should abandon jealousy towards the prosperity of anyone and generate joy from the bottom of one's heart. If this is not the case, then Bodhicitta and the accomplishment of the benefit and happiness of sentient beings will only be empty names. Because one wants all sentient beings to be happy, one generates Bodhicitta. If sentient beings themselves gain happiness, then what is there to be angry about? If one says that one wants all sentient beings to become worthy of offerings in the three realms, but feels pain when seeing them receive only a little offering and respect, then why is that? The object you are offering to should be offered and given by yourself. If your relatives receive offerings, shouldn't you be happy, but instead be angry? If you don't want them to receive benefits, then how can you want them to attain Buddhahood? If someone is angry at the prosperity of others, then how can they have Bodhicitta? If that person gains benefits from there and lives in the house of the benefactor, but you never receive anything, then whether they give or don't give, what effect does it have on you? That's all. Being happy about the decline of enemies and the evil thought of wishing them to be destroyed, these thoughts themselves cannot harm the enemies, but only cause oneself to suffer. Even if it can cause harm, one should think of the faults that this will lead to the destruction of oneself and others, and thus one must stop it in every way. If an enemy is unhappy, and you are happy because of it, what is the meaning of that? Merely relying on your wishes cannot become the cause of harming them.
