These great spiritual friends who were passed down from Geshe Tonpa (དགེ་བཤེས་སྟོན་པ་) do not consider this as a commentary by Jowo (ཇོ་བོ།). Those passed down from Naktsang (ནག་ཚོ་) consider this to be written by Jowo and consider it to be Naktsang's secret Dharma. However, according to the former, Jowo made a brief commentary in Purang (པུ་རངས།), and later when he arrived at Samye Monastery (བསམ་ཡས་), the translator added and expanded it. Therefore, Jowo made a brief commentary, in which it seems that many explanations based on oral transmission have been added. Therefore, some obvious errors appear in it, but there are also many good explanations of the meaning of the scriptures. Therefore, I also quoted and explained the parts that are not wrong in other occasions and in the Lamrim. The teachings here do not seem reliable. If the word "Bodhicitta" is understood as the teachings of entering Bodhicitta, then it is not reasonable to just take and abandon the eight black and white dharmas on top of the teachings of refuge. If it is understood only as aspiring Bodhicitta, then there is no need to study all the teachings mentioned in the sutras, and all the teachings from entering the practice onwards, otherwise it will be no different from the teachings of vows. Teachings other than the two teachings mentioned earlier are like the "Lamp for the Path to Enlightenment" and the Bodhicitta ritual. It is said in the Sutra of Seven Dharmas that one should study it because one wants to quickly obtain clairvoyance. Therefore, it does not seem like a special teaching of Bodhicitta, so it was not written. In this way, according to one's own view, if one violates the teachings other than not abandoning the aspiring mind and not abandoning sentient beings, even if one does not have the vows of a Bodhisattva, there is no downfall of a Bodhisattva, but since one violates the teachings of the intermediate vows of virtue, it will become misconduct, so one must confess with the four powers. After obtaining the Bodhisattva vows, violating the teachings of the vows will become a downfall, so it is enough to do as the remedy for the downfall is said, because it is included in the teachings of entering Bodhicitta, and there is nothing else besides that. However, generating Bodhicitta six times is the uncommon teaching of aspiration. Third, there are three aspects to how to learn the practice after generating Bodhicitta: After generating Bodhicitta, one must learn the teachings.

The reason for this is that it shows that Buddhahood is not achieved by learning each individual method. It explains the order of learning what to learn. Firstly, even if one does not learn what should be learned, such as giving, after generating the mind of aspiration in this way, the benefits are great, as stated in the previously quoted prophecy of Maitreya's liberation. However, if one does not make practice the essence of the bodhisattva's training, it is impossible to attain enlightenment, so one should train in conduct. As it says in the Gāyā Gaurī: "Enlightenment is attained by great bodhisattvas who make practice the essence, not by those who make wrong practice the essence." And as it says in the Samādhirāja Sūtra: "Therefore, practice should be made the essence. Why is that? Young man, for those who make practice the essence, it is not difficult to find the unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment." It is said that practice is the means to achieve Buddhahood, so one should learn the bodhisattva's training. Also, in the first stage of meditation, it says: "Thus, the bodhisattva who has generated the mind, knowing that he cannot subdue others without subduing himself, should diligently engage in the practice of giving and so on. Without practice, enlightenment is not attained." And as it says in the Pramāṇavārttika: "Out of compassion, he engages in various methods to destroy suffering. Because the cause of the method is hidden, it is difficult to explain it." It is said that if one has great compassion for others, one must eliminate their suffering. To eliminate their suffering, it is not enough to have a good heart that wishes them to be free from suffering, but one must engage in the means to do so. However, if one has not previously engaged in that method oneself, one cannot liberate others, so one who wishes to accomplish the benefit of others must first tame oneself. It is said that one must make practice the essence of this. And it is said that practice also requires taking vows and learning the training of those vows. Therefore, it is important not to err in the place where one makes practice the essence. Secondly, it is not enough to wish to attain Buddhahood, but one must also engage in the means to achieve Buddhahood, and that means must be unerring. No matter how hard one strives on the wrong path, no result will come, just like pulling on the horns of a cow when one wants to milk it. Even if it is not wrong,
