It is on the side of samsara. Since the root of samsara, self-grasping, contradicts the object of focus, although the self-arising joy of the truth of origination, which is the cause of rebirth, is not real, it is in accordance with the real origination that generates future lives, so it is included in the origination. As it is said in the Compendium of Determinations: "Why are those worldly dharmas that refute the desire for rebirth and do not incline towards it, and that generate the path beyond the world, included in the truth of origination?" Although they do not inherently incline towards the existence of rebirth, they are in accordance with the well-practiced rebirth of body, speech, and mind, therefore, it should be understood that they are included in the truth of origination. Thus it is said. Having well contemplated the faults of samsara, the virtuous actions aroused by the thought of renunciation from that, which generate the path beyond the world, are said to be in accordance with the origination. Therefore, one must strive to generate this thought and the wisdom of selflessness. In this way, if one contemplates and meditates on the faults of samsara in various ways, one will not find the antidote to refute the attachment to the perfections of samsara, nor will one properly examine the meaning of selflessness with discriminating wisdom. Virtuous practices that are separated from familiarizing oneself with the two bodhicittas, except for some that rely on the power of the field, will become the self-arising joy of origination, thus turning the wheel of samsara. There are also two types of accumulating karma: accumulating for the sake of feeling pleasure, and accumulating for the sake of feeling equanimity. The first is divided into two: the pleasure arising from enjoying desirable qualities such as forms and sounds, and the pleasure of abandoning attachment to outward-looking pleasure, and accumulating karma for the sake of the pleasure of feeling arising from samadhi. The first is divided into two: if one mainly aims for the happiness of this life until death, then one accumulates non-meritorious karma; if one mainly aims for the happiness of desire in the next life, then one accumulates meritorious karma. If one mainly aims for the pleasure of feeling arising from samadhi, then it is from the third dhyana downwards.

Accumulating unwavering karma that leads to rebirth from the fourth dhyana to the peak of existence, and also turning away from attachment to desire and becoming weary of pleasant feelings, engaging in actions for the sake of neutral feelings, then that is accumulating unwavering karma that leads to rebirth from the fourth dhyana to the peak of existence. This is the view of Master Vasubandhu. With this reasoning, turning away from clinging to all existence and striving diligently in virtue with body, speech, and mind for the sake of liberation, then one becomes increasingly distant from samsara and increasingly close to liberation. Third, regarding the process of death, transmigration, and connection, there are five aspects: the causes of death, the mind at the time of death, from where warmth is withdrawn, how the bardo state is formed after death, and then how rebirth is taken in the next existence. First, dying from the exhaustion of lifespan: this is dying when all the lifespan propelled by previous karma is exhausted, that is, dying when the time has come. Dying from the exhaustion of merit: this is like dying without resources. Dying without abandoning unsuitable things: this refers to the nine causes of dying before the lifespan is exhausted, as stated in the Sutras: eating without moderation, eating unsuitable food, eating before the previous meal is digested, not expelling undigested accumulated food, suppressing ripened food, not relying on individual medicines, not knowing what is habitual and unaccustomed, going out at inappropriate times, and engaging in impure conduct. Second, there are three types of minds at the time of death: dying with a virtuous mind, whether one remembers it oneself or is made to remember it by others, the mind is constantly engaged in virtuous qualities such as faith until the arising of gross cognitions. When a person who does both good and bad dies, whether they remember it themselves or are made to remember it by others, that which has been practiced many times before will become most powerful, and therefore the mind will be focused on that, while others will be forgotten. If one is equally accustomed to both, then one will not turn away from what was initially remembered, and the mind will not turn to other things. Doing good is like going from darkness to light, and at the time of death, various pleasant, non-ugly dream-like images will appear to them, and they will die peacefully, and at the time of death, their body will not experience intense feelings of suffering. Those who do good deeds well

It is a very small key instruction. To die with an unwholesome mind, whether one remembers it oneself or is made to remember it by others, the memory of unwholesomeness such as attachment arises while the coarse consciousness is functioning. At the time of death, one experiences intense feelings of suffering in the body, and at the time of death while doing unwholesome deeds, one experiences here the omens of the results of previously done unwholesome deeds. Like a dream, many unpleasant forms appear to him, like going from light into darkness. Those who do great unwholesome deeds experience suffering in their bodies from seeing those unpleasant signs, and make a "sying" sound, waving their arms and legs, defecating and urinating, grabbing at the sky, rolling their eyes, foaming at the mouth, and so on. If one does intermediate unwholesome deeds, some of these things happen, and some do not, so they do not happen completely. For those who do evil deeds, the key instruction is very serious. The key instruction exists in all places of birth except gods and hells. At the time of death, everyone develops attachment to the self that has been accustomed to for a long time, until they reach the point where their consciousness is not clear. After that, because of attachment to the self, one thinks that the self will cease to exist, and one becomes attached to the body, which is the cause of the attainment of the bardo. Even stream-enterers and once-returners develop attachment to the self, but they examine it with wisdom and abandon it, not accepting it, like a strong person striking a weak person. Non-returners do not develop that attachment to the self. To die with an indeterminate mind, whether one does good or bad, or does not do it, one does not remember either of them oneself, nor does one cause others to remember them. At the time of death, one does not have both happiness and suffering. To die with a virtuous mind is only while the coarse consciousness exists, but when the subtle consciousness is functioning, the virtuous mind recedes and turns into an indeterminate mind, so at that time one cannot practice the previously accustomed virtue, nor can others cause one to remember it. To unwholesome
