Having meditated for a long time on the faults of samsara from various perspectives, seeing all existence as a blaze of fire, and with the mind yearning to attain liberation, the pacification of afflictions and suffering. If one trains in the three precious trainings of the path, one will attain liberation from samsara. Although it is not like returning after ascending to the heavens, since the exhaustion of faults and the attainment of qualities are only partial, if one's own benefit is not complete, then the benefit of others is also only temporary. Ultimately, one must be urged by the Buddha to enter the Great Vehicle. Therefore, those with intelligence should enter the Great Vehicle from the beginning. As it is said in the Compendium of Perfections: "Those two vehicles (Śrāvakayāna and Pratyekabuddhayāna) that are powerless to accomplish the benefit of the world should be abandoned forever. In the Sugata's Vehicle, taught with compassion, those with the nature of benefiting others alone enter." And: "Counting happiness and unhappiness as like dreams, seeing beings degraded by the fault of ignorance, rejoicing in the supreme activity of benefiting others, why strive for one's own benefit?" As it is said. Thus, seeing oneself as if fallen into the ocean of existence, and beings also with their eyes of wisdom closed, unable to proceed in the direction away from fear, staggering in their steps, those with the lineage of the Victorious Ones should not be without love for others, and should not strive for their benefit. As it is said in that very text: "For those whose eyes of wisdom are closed and whose steps are faltering, in the lineage of the Victorious Ones who accomplish the benefit of the world, what person does not generate compassion? Who does not strive to dispel their ignorance?" Thus it is said. Here, the happiness, majesty, and skill of individuals should be directed towards taking on the burden of others' benefit. For focusing solely on one's own benefit is no different from that of animals. Therefore, the conduct of great beings is to be entirely devoted to the benefit and happiness of others. As it is said in the Letter to a Disciple: "Even livestock eat a few blades of grass that are very easy to find. Even when tormented by extreme thirst, they happily drink when they find some water. Here, whoever strives to accomplish the benefit of others, that is the majesty here."

Alas, the merit of that Bliss-born is truly supreme! The sun is great, riding a horse and running, who is it that manifests light? Without adding burden, who is it that the earth supports the world? Not for themselves, the nature of the great ones is like this, they are single-mindedly devoted to benefiting and bringing happiness to the world. Thus, seeing beings tormented by suffering, to be busy for their sake is called a great person, and is also called a wise person. As it is said in the sutra: The world is obscured by the dense clouds of ignorance, beings are confused, seeing them helplessly falling into the blazing fire of suffering, like flames blazing on their heads, their hearts are anxious, and they strive diligently, these are the great persons, and these are also the wise ones. Therefore, the source of all good for oneself and others, the medicine that eliminates all decline, the great path traveled by all wise beings, seeing, hearing, remembering, and touching also become nourishment for all beings, acting for the benefit of others, one's own benefit is also naturally accomplished, possessing such skillful means, the great vehicle can be entered, I have truly obtained a very good opportunity! One should think like this, and enter this supreme vehicle with whatever ability one has. As it is said in the Prajnaparamita Samgraha Sutra: Pure wisdom, the most excellent of the manifest attainment of the Great Vehicle, all great powerful ones, all knowers arise from this. It is like the eyes of the world, like the light of the radiant sun rising. Thus, seeing the qualities of the Great Vehicle from various gates, generate great respect and enter. Thus, there are three ways to train the mind in the stages of the path of the great person: indicating that the entrance to the Great Vehicle is only the generation of the mind, and how to generate this mind, and how to train in conduct after generating the mind. First, thus, if one must enter the Great Vehicle, then from which gate does one enter? To this, the Victorious One has proclaimed two Great Vehicles, the Paramita Great Vehicle and the Secret Mantra Great Vehicle, there is no other Great Vehicle besides these. Whichever gate one enters, the entrance is only the mind of enlightenment, when this mind arises in the mindstream.
