Upa (Upāsaka, Sanskrit: Upāsaka, Romanized Sanskrit: Upāsaka, literal meaning: male lay devotee) said, "This is the way to raise children." Sharawa also said, "When a householder is busy with work, put on nice clothes and go there, thinking how wonderful it is to be ordained!" He said that in the future, he would leave the habit of ordination. The brave one asked, "I have also renounced from the suffering household, when will I be able to practice like this? When will I be able to dwell in the affairs of the Sangha, the affairs of the Uposatha, the affairs of the Pravāraṇā, and the affairs of reverence?" Therefore, one should rejoice in the mind of renunciation in this way. Bodhisattvas living in the secular world should also make such aspirations. This mainly refers to aspiring to receive full ordination. In the Ornament of the Sutras, it is also said, "The aspects of ordination are endowed with immeasurable qualities. Therefore, a lay bodhisattva who diligently observes the precepts is more superior than others." Thus, in order to attain liberation from samsara, not only is renunciation praised as a basis, but also through the path of the pāramitās and tantras to achieve omniscience, it is said that renunciation is the best basis. The precepts of ordination are the Prātimokṣa among the three precepts, therefore one should respect the Prātimokṣa as the root of the Dharma. Second, by cultivating which path can one avert? The Letter to a Friend says, "If a fire suddenly breaks out on your head or clothes, even if you abandon averting them, you should strive to ensure that there is no rebirth, there is nothing more important than this. With pure morality, wisdom, and meditation, attain the peaceful, gentle, and immaculate state of Nirvana, neither aging nor dying, never diminishing, attain separation from earth, water, fire, wind, sun, and moon." As it is said, one should study the three precious trainings. Among them, the reason why the number of the three trainings is fixed at three is: First, from the perspective of the order of taming the mind, the determination of the number is: making the mind unscattered is the training of morality; making the mind abide is the training of samādhi or mind; making the mind liberated is the training of wisdom. These three complete all the activities of the yogis.

become the cause of transformation. Determining the number from the perspective of the result: The result of not breaking the precepts is both the desire realm and the form realm's good destinies; the result of breaking the precepts is the bad destinies. The result of the training of the mind is both the upper realms' good destinies. The result of the training of wisdom is liberation. In short, what is to be accomplished is both higher rebirth and definite goodness, the former having both upper and lower realms' good destinies, therefore its causes of accomplishment are also three. These two are spoken of in the "Fifty Verses on the Guru." The latter, in relation to the afflictions to be abandoned, is also considered to be threefold, namely: counteracting afflictions, suppressing the manifestation of afflictions, and eradicating afflictions from the root, corresponding to the three trainings. The situation of definite order: Quoting from the "Fifty Verses on the Guru," as requested by Brahma: The root is extremely stable, Delighting in a peaceful mind, One should possess the view of the noble, And be separated from the view of sin. Thus it is proclaimed. Among them, discipline is the root, because the other two arise from it. Relying on discipline to keep the mind equally abiding, and delighting in it, is the second. Because the mind is equally abiding and sees the truth as it is, therefore possessing the view of the noble and being separated from the view of sin is the third. The nature of the three trainings: From Brahma's request it is said: Possessing six branches and, Comfortable four abodes, The four aspects of the four, Are always pure wisdom. As it is proclaimed. Among them, the training of discipline is possessing six branches, namely: possessing discipline and being restrained by the discipline of individual liberation, these two indicate the pure discipline that definitely liberates from samsara. Possessing rituals and conduct, these two indicate the pure discipline that is not blamed. Seeing even the slightest fault as fearful indicates the pure discipline that is not broken. Properly taking up the objects of training and learning indicates the pure discipline that is not inverted. The four abodes of the mind are the four dhyanas, and it itself abides happily in this life, therefore it is happiness, which is the training of the mind. The four are the four truths, and its four aspects are the impermanence, suffering, emptiness, and selflessness of the truth of suffering. The cause of the truth of origin and

Are origination, increase, and cause. The truth of cessation is cessation, peace, excellence, and liberation. The truth of the path is the path, reason, practice, and that which leads out. These sixteen are the sixteen aspects of realization, which are the training in wisdom. Here, if one leads the self-interested person of the intermediate scope, although it is necessary to extensively explain the three trainings, since it is not so, the method of generating wisdom, insight, and the training of the mind, that is, calm abiding and insight, will be extensively explained in the chapter on the great person, so I will not elaborate here. Therefore, one should briefly explain the method of learning ethics. First of all, one should repeatedly think about the benefits of ethics, and generate joy and strength from the bottom of one's heart. As it is said in the Great Nirvana Sutra: Ethics is the ladder of all virtuous dharmas, just as the roots of trees and so on are the earth, it is the root; just as the merchant lord is the leader of all merchants, it is the leader of all virtuous dharmas; just as the victory banner of Indra is raised, it is the victory banner of all dharmas; it cuts off all sins and the path of evil destinies; it heals all diseases of sin, like a medicinal tree; it is the provision for the dangerous path of samsara; it is the weapon to destroy the enemy of afflictions; it is the mantra to dispel the poisonous snakes of afflictions; it is the bridge to liberate from the water of sin. (There seems to be an error between 350 and 358 here) As it is said, and also by the Protector Nagarjuna: Ethics is like the earth for what is produced and not produced, It is said to be the basis and support of all qualities. As it is said, and also in the Sutra Requested by Strong Friend: Just as all crops depend on the earth, And grow without defect, Similarly, relying on ethics, the supreme white Dharma, Is moistened by the water of compassion and grows. One should think like this. If one makes a promise and does not keep it, the fault is very great. In the Sutra Most Dear to Monks, it says: For some, ethics is happiness, For some, ethics is suffering. Those who have ethics are happy, Those who break ethics are miserable. Therefore, the training that has been promised goes in both directions, benefit and fault. Therefore, one should also think about the faults.
