. If one does not distinguish in this way and continues to speak as before, then if the speaker has the bodhisattva's vows, they will generate a defiled offense, as stated in the Bodhisattvabhumi. I have not written more for fear of too many words. Therefore, it is amazing that one sees all the faults of samsara and is extremely disgusted, yet does not abandon samsara because of being drawn by great compassion. But if one sees the perfections of samsara as an immeasurable palace, and does not diminish even a little the craving for it, but pretends to benefit others, saying, "We do not abandon samsara," how can one please the wise? The Essence of Madhyamaka also says: "Seeing faults, one does not remain in existence; for the sake of love, one does not abide in nirvana; for the sake of accomplishing the benefit of others, the diligent one remains in existence without being stained." It is said. Furthermore, in order to generate great compassion for all sentient beings, as explained in the Bodhisattvabhumi, one must see the infinite sufferings, such as the one hundred and ten sufferings, and generate an unbearable, intense, and long-lasting compassion in one's heart. But to say that one is not at all weary of samsara is very contradictory. One should develop a strong aversion to samsara, and then see those sentient beings as one's own relatives, and the order of the path of entering the ocean of existence for their benefit is also the profound intention of the Four Hundred Verses on the Yogic Deeds of a Bodhisattva, which the great teacher Chandrakirti also clearly explained in his commentary. As it is said: "The Blessed One told the monks that for those who have been wandering in samsara for a long time, there is no place that is not like a father, mother, son, daughter, relative, or in-law. In the realm of sentient beings, there is no sentient being that is not like that." It is said. The bodhisattvas also understand the words of the Blessed One, and in order to liberate all the wandering and helpless beings who have become relatives such as parents from beginningless samsara with the ship of the Mahayana, they are worthy of offering. Because it is said so. This principle is also necessary for the unsurpassable secret mantra. The Lamp That Compiles Practices says:

This order should enter into the practice of extreme simplicity. The order is as follows: First of all, the practitioner should remember the suffering of beginningless samsara, and because of desiring the bliss of nirvana, should completely abandon all clamor. Even for the power of kingship, one should cultivate the thought of suffering. As Arya Deva said. Fourth, determining the nature of the path to liberation: Shri Jagata Mitra said: The ocean of suffering is boundless and bottomless, Though drowned in the depths of existence, Without sorrow, without fear, joyful and arrogant, What is in our hearts? Poverty, hard to find, guarding and losing, Separation, old age, sickness and decay, Though entering the ever-burning fire, Yet thinking it is happiness, I think it is madness. As it is said. Alas! The world is blind with eyes, Though clearly and constantly seeing, Still not thinking a little, Has your heart become a vajra? As it is said. Encourage yourself, cultivate the faults of samsara. As the words of realization of the seven young women say: Seeing the world abiding like the moon's reflection moving in the water, Seeing desire like the shadow of an angry snake coiling its body and raising its head. Seeing these beings burning everywhere with the fire of suffering, King, we will surely depart, rejoicing in the quiet charnel ground. As it is said. Seeing the samsara of outer and inner things like the moon in the water moved by the wind, impermanent and decaying without stopping for a moment, The merits of desire are small and dangerous, like the shadow of the body of a poisonous snake, The five kinds of beings are burned by the fire of the three sufferings, constantly tormented. If a mind like that of a northern child who has completely turned away from existence arises, Then surely renunciation will arise, and a desire to attain liberation will arise. The northern child is one who, because tsampa is scarce in the north, eats only a small amount of oil residue. A child is hungry and wants to eat tsampa, so he asks his mother for food. The mother has no tsampa, so she gives him wet oil residue, which the child does not want. Then she gives him dry oil residue, which he does not want. Then she gives him fatty oil residue, but he still says he does not want it.
