Realizing that all of these are without contradiction is understood here as the path to enlightenment for one person. That is, some are the main part of the path, and some are the branches of the path, each varying accordingly. Therefore, the intention of the Bodhisattvas is to accomplish the benefit of the world, and since all three types of beings must be embraced, one must study their paths. As it says in the Bodhicitta Explanation: "Having truly understood oneself, wanting to create certainty in others, the wise always without error, diligently engage in this Dharma." And as it also says in the Compendium on Valid Cognition: "The means having arisen, that cause is hidden, to explain that is difficult." This means that if one has not truly understood oneself, one cannot show it to others. Knowing the paths of the three vehicles is the method for accomplishing the intention of the Bodhisattva. Vimalamitra said: "Those who benefit beings, by knowing the path itself, accomplish the meaning of the world." And it also says in the Mother of the Buddhas: "Bodhisattvas should generate all the paths of what is the path of the Hearers, what is the path of the Solitary Buddhas, and what is the path of the Buddhas, and should know all the paths. They should also perfect all of these paths, and should also do the activities of these paths." Therefore, if someone says that because they are a Mahayana practitioner, they should not study the Hinayana scriptures, that is a sign of contradiction. Entering the Mahayana path has two aspects: the common path and the uncommon path. The common path is what arises from the Hinayana scriptures, so how could one abandon them? Therefore, all Mahayana practitioners must also practice these paths, except for a few who pursue specific goals such as personal peace and happiness. This is also the reason why the Bodhisattvas' extremely vast scriptures extensively teach all three vehicles. Furthermore, a perfectly complete Buddha is not someone who has only exhausted some faults and perfected some qualities, but someone who has exhausted all kinds of faults and perfected all kinds of qualities. The Great Vehicle that accomplishes this result also prevents all faults and generates all qualities. Therefore, the qualities of abandonment and realization of all other vehicles
