Times. If a good person associates with a bad person, it is said that it takes no effort to become bad. Sixth, the meaning of summarizing these is: Thus, the teachings known as Guru Yoga should also be understood as previously explained. Merely practicing for one session at a time will not get you anywhere, and if you sincerely practice the Dharma, you must rely on a supreme and unerring spiritual friend for a long time. At that time, Master Chakawa also said, "If you rely on a guru carelessly, there is a danger of abandoning him." If you rely on him without knowing how to rely on him, you will not only not benefit, but you will also suffer losses. Therefore, these Dharma categories of relying on a spiritual friend seem to be more important than anything else and are the root of constant intention. Extract a rough outline from the pure scriptures and commentaries, decorate it with words that are easy to understand and convincing, and that focus on the meaning of the scriptures, and compile it. Learn the details from other places. Our afflictions are extremely coarse, and we do not know how to rely on a guru, and even if we do, we do not do it. For those who listen to many teachings, there are countless faults of relying on a guru. Moreover, it is difficult for them to generate thoughts of repentance and vows, so as mentioned earlier, understand the benefits and faults and think about them repeatedly. For the situations in previous lives where you did not rely on them properly, repent from the bottom of your heart and make many vows. Also, strive to practice the Dharma that is capable. Also, repeatedly contemplate the characteristics of a fully qualified spiritual friend. In this way, in order to be accepted until you attain enlightenment, accumulate merit and make many aspirations. If you do this, you will soon become like the Bodhisattva Sadaprarudita, who has outstanding courage, and the youth Sudhana, who is never satisfied with seeking spiritual friends. Briefly explaining the method of guarding, it is divided into two: the truth of the method of guarding and the refutation of false distinctions about it. The first part is divided into two, regarding how to do the nature of a session. First, there are six preliminary Dharmas, which are the biography of Serlingpa. Clean the dwelling well and arrange the supports of body, speech, and mind well. Seek offerings without wavering and arrange the arrangements beautifully. Then remove the obscurations of sleep and drowsiness from the listening place.

When training the mind, it is necessary to alternate between different practices. In addition to this, when training the mind to overcome obstacles such as craving for desires, the scriptures say to sit on a bed or a small bed, etc., in the lotus position. Sit comfortably, keep your body straight, and sit in either the full or half lotus position. Generate refuge and bodhicitta, ensuring they blend with your mind. In the space in front of you, visualize the lineage masters of the vast conduct and profound view, as well as countless Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, noble Shravakas, Pratyekabuddhas, and Dharma protectors, clearly establishing the field for accumulating merit. Then, if there is a lack of the combined cause of accumulating merit—the favorable conditions for the path to arise in your mind—and purifying obscurations—the removal of obstacles, it is very difficult for the path to arise even if you only strive for the immediate cause—focusing on the object of attention. Therefore, it is necessary to train the mind with the seven-branch offering, which gathers the essential points of accumulation and purification. Among them, the branch of prostration is the prostration that combines the three doors, which is the verse "jisnyed su dag (藏文,ཇི་སྙེད་སུ་དག་,梵文天城体,yāvantas ca,梵文罗马拟音,yāvantas ca,汉语字面意思,有多少诸方)". It is not directed towards the Buddhas of a particular realm, direction, or time, but towards all the victors who abide in the ten directions, who have come in the past, who will come in the future, and who appear in the present. Prostrate with reverence from the depths of your heart with the three doors, not like chasing after the footsteps of others. Moreover, even prostrating to one Buddha has immeasurable merit, let alone prostrating to so many Buddhas, as Master Yeshe De said in his commentary. Among the individual prostrations of the three doors, the prostration of the body is the verse "bzang po spyod pa (藏文,བཟང་པོ་སྤྱོད་པ་,梵文天城体,bhadracaryā,梵文罗马拟音,bhadracaryā,汉语字面意思,贤善行)" and so on. Visualize all the Buddhas encompassed by direction and time as if they were vividly present in your mind, and emanate your body into as many particles as there are in all the Buddha-fields, and prostrate. Moreover, generate the power of extreme faith in the virtuous conduct of all realms, and be inspired by it. Even prostrating with one body has great merit, let alone prostrating with so many bodies, the merit is extremely great, as Master Yeshe De said. The prostration of the mind is the verse "rdul gcig steng na (藏文,རྡུལ་གཅིག་སྟེང་ན་,梵文天城体,eka rajas,梵文罗马拟音,eka rajas,汉语字面意思,一尘之上)"
