Where should these words be spoken and their meaning be remembered with one-pointedness of mind. The same words should be applied to the previous sutra as well. Furthermore, in the Gandavyuha Sutra, it says: "This is my virtuous friend, the speaker of the Dharma, the one who fully reveals all the qualities of the Dharma, the one who fully shows the conduct of the Bodhisattvas, thinking with one mind that this is why I have come here. These ones, by nurturing me, are like my mother, like a mother who fills me with the milk of virtue. They are the ones who fully train the limbs of enlightenment. These virtuous friends avert all harm, like a doctor who frees one from old age and death, like Indra, the lord of the gods, who pours down the rain of nectar, like the full moon, increasing with the white Dharma, like the clear sun showing the direction of peace, like a mountain to enemies and friends, like an ocean, possessing an undisturbed mind. Like one who fully protects and listens, with such a mind, Sudhana came here. The Bodhisattva increases my wisdom, is the son of the Buddha, is the one who increases enlightenment, these are my virtuous friends, praised by the Buddha, thus with a virtuous mind I have come here. Like a hero who protects the world, is a guide, a protector, and a refuge. These are the eyes that bestow happiness upon me, with such a mind I serve and respect the virtuous friend." As it is said, it should also be remembered with the melody of verses, and Sudhana should transform the recitation to himself. Secondly, the way to rely on through action is, in the Fifty Verses on the Guru, it says: "What need is there to say much here? Do whatever pleases the Guru. Abandon all that displeases him. Strive to examine these. The source of accomplishments, following the teacher, Vajradhara himself has said, knowing this, with all things, make the Guru completely happy." As it is said, in short, one should strive to accomplish what pleases the Guru and abandon what displeases him. There are three ways to accomplish what pleases the Guru: offering material goods, serving and respecting with body and speech, and acting according to his instructions. Thus, in the Ornament for the Sutras, it is also said: "One should rely on the virtuous friend through respect, offerings, service, and the means of practice." And it also says: "By practicing the steadfast Dharma that has been taught, one makes his mind completely happy." So it is said.

Firstly, from the Fifty Stanzas: One's own samaya master, not a son or wife given away, should be constantly served with one's own life. What need is there to mention the enjoyment of possessions? It says. Giving that, it always becomes an offering to all the Buddhas. That offering is the accumulation of merit and wisdom, and from that accumulation, supreme accomplishment arises. As it is said. Also, the words of Laksorwa say: If one offers bad things while having good ones, the samaya is broken, and the lama will not be pleased. If there are no bad things, there is no fault. Also from the Fifty Stanzas: With the desire for the inexhaustible, whatever is slightly pleasing, whatever is extremely special, that and that should be offered to the lama. It seems to be in accordance with that. That is the best way to accumulate merit from the student's point of view, so it is necessary to do so. From the lama's point of view, it is not necessary to pay attention to that. The words of Sharawa say: One who is pleased by practice and does not look at even a small amount of material things is called a lama. Otherwise, one cannot become a lama who accomplishes liberation. Secondly: bathing, anointing, massaging, wiping, and attending to the sick, etc., and praising their qualities, etc. Thirdly: To practice without contradicting the instructions, that is the main thing. From the Jataka: To make offerings in return for kindness is to practice according to the instructions. As it is said. If one must practice according to the lama's instructions, what should one do if the lama leads one into an unreasonable path or engages in actions that contradict the three vows? To that, the Vinaya Sutra says: If one speaks of what is not Dharma, one should turn away. Also from the Cloud of Jewels: One should act in accordance with virtuous Dharma and not act in accordance with non-virtuous Dharma. As it is said, one should not listen to his instructions. It is clearly stated in the twelfth chapter of the Jataka that one should not engage in unreasonable things. However, one should not use these as excuses to be disrespectful, contemptuous, or abusive towards him. From the Fifty Stanzas on the Guru: If one cannot do it with reason, one should discipline what one cannot do with words. As it is said, one should explain and discipline well and not enter into wrongdoing. Also, when relying on him in this way, from the Ornament of the Sutras: He enjoys the share of the Dharma.
