Also, contemplate. The contemplation of the suffering of separation from the beloved is also fivefold: When separated from the most cherished relatives, etc., sorrow arises in the mind, lamentations are uttered in the mouth, harm is caused to the body, the mind is tormented by remembering the qualities of that place and desiring it, and the enjoyment there is incomplete, that is, contemplating these. The contemplation of the suffering of seeking desires but not finding them is also fivefold: It is similar to separation from the beloved. Seeking desires but not finding them, such as cultivating but not obtaining a harvest, trading but not obtaining profit, etc., that is, for whatever is hoped for, even if one strives to seek it, it is not found, hence the suffering of disappointment. In short, the meaning of the sutra that says, "The five aggregates of clinging are suffering," the contemplation is also fivefold: Being a vessel of suffering that manifests and achieves, being a vessel of suffering that depends on manifestation and achievement, being a vessel of the suffering of suffering, being a vessel of the suffering of change, and becoming the nature of the suffering of conditioning. That is, contemplate these again and again. The first of these is: Relying on taking this aggregate of clinging, thereby leading to the sufferings of future lives and beyond. The second is: Becoming the basis of aging, etc., which depends on the already achieved aggregates. The third and fourth are: The two sufferings are connected in a continuous sequence of bad situations, thereby generating those two sufferings. The fifth is: Merely the achievement of the aggregate of clinging gives rise to the nature of the suffering of conditioning, because all conditioning that is caused by previous karma and afflictions, becoming subject to others, is the suffering of conditioning. These will be explained in detail when discussing the three sufferings. If a genuine renunciation of the nature of cyclic existence of the aggregates of clinging does not arise, there will be no place for the arising of a genuine intention to seek liberation, and great compassion cannot arise for sentient beings wandering in cyclic existence, therefore, whether entering the Mahayana or Hinayana, this thought is extremely important. To generate this, one must also follow the stainless scriptures and reliable commentaries, seek pure understanding, and then, through prolonged analytical meditation of discriminating observation, evoke a strong transformation of the mind. Therefore, the Blessed One proclaimed the suffering truth of cyclic existence.

In order to know the faults, it is said that the meaning of the eight sufferings is explained as it was well determined by the noble Asanga. Potowa said: Wherever one is born in the six realms, once suffering such as sickness and death arises, it is because one is sick due to the cause of sickness, and one dies due to the cause of death. This is not something that should not happen suddenly, but is the characteristic or nature of samsara. As long as one abides in samsara, one cannot transcend these. If we are tired of this, we must abandon birth. As it is said, we must abandon its cause. Therefore, one should think in this way about the arising of suffering such as birth, old age, sickness, and death that were mentioned earlier. Second, thinking about the six sufferings: In the commentary on the "Letter to a Friend," seven are mentioned, the last of which is the fault of each individual, so here we should think about six. Among them, the fault of uncertainty is: In samsara, relatives such as parents will become enemies in other lives, and enemies will become relatives; similarly, fathers will become sons, sons will become fathers, mothers will become wives, wives will become mothers, etc., like this, they transform in sequence, only transmigrating, so there is absolutely nothing to trust. As the "Letter to a Friend" says: The father is the son, the mother is the wife, and beings who were enemies will also become friends, because they will become the opposite, so there is no certainty in samsara. It is said. Even in this life, enemies and friends will transform into each other. As the "Inquiry of Good Arms" says: For a while, enemies will also become friends, and friends will also become enemies in the same way, some will become intermediaries, and the intermediaries will also become enemies. Having recognized that friends and relatives will transform in this way, the wise will never be attached. One should dispel the thoughts of attachment to relatives, and abide in virtue as much as possible. After meditating in this way, prevent the arising of attachment and hatred by distinguishing between enemies and friends, and observe that there is nothing to trust in the Dharma of samsara, and thereby feel weary. The fault of not knowing satisfaction is: Each person has drunk more milk than the four oceans, but still follows their respective beings, the samsaric ones will drink even more. Like this, how much mother's milk has each sentient being drunk in the past
