As it is said, starting from obtaining food, one should recognize all the happiness and well-being that occurs to oneself as the kindness of the Three Jewels, and make offerings with a grateful heart. There are two aspects to this: the object of offering and the intention of offering. The first has ten aspects: Offering to the Buddha's body is offering to the actual physical body of the Buddha. Offering to stupas is offering to stupas, etc., for the sake of the Buddha. Manifest offering is offering to those two that are manifest to one's senses. Non-manifest offering is offering for the sake of the Buddha and all stupas when the Buddha and his stupas are not manifest. After the Buddha's nirvana, making images and stupas, etc., for the sake of the Buddha is also a non-manifest offering. When offering to either of these two, the nature of one is the nature of all. Therefore, one should also make offerings to these two that are manifest, and thinking of offering to all the Buddhas of the three times and the infinite stupas of the ten directions, this is the general offering of manifest and non-manifest. The former has great merit, the latter is even greater than the former, and the third is said to be extremely great. Therefore, when offering to the Buddha or his image, etc., one should remember the undifferentiated nature of reality and generate the intention to offer to all, which is very important. Offering by oneself is doing it oneself without letting others do it due to laziness, negligence, or carelessness. Letting others make offerings is when one has few possessions and thinks that these suffering sentient beings have little merit and are incapable, and if they make offerings, they will be happy, and thus one compassionately causes others alone to make offerings. Furthermore, urging others to make offerings together is a common offering of oneself and others. The magnitude of the merit of these three is the same as the former. Offerings of wealth and respect are offering clothes, food, bedding, cushions, medicine, utensils, incense, powders, perfumes, flower garlands, musical sounds, various lights, and respectful speech and

Reverence, manifestation, joining palms, uttering various praises, prostrating with five limbs, circumambulating to the right, and endless offerings such as fields, and ornaments such as jewels, musical instruments, and armlets, even offering bells, scattering karshapana coins, and wrapping with silk threads to offer to the Buddha or his stupa. The vast offering is: offering for a long time with those gains and respects, that is, the offerings are many and good, whether present or not, done by oneself or others, offering from the depths of one's heart with joy and strong faith, and dedicating that virtue to perfect Bodhi, these are seven. The offering that is not entirely afflicted is: not despising, not being careless, not being lazy, not letting others do it, doing it oneself with one's own hands, doing it respectfully, doing it without distraction, doing it without mixing with attachment and so on, doing it with a non-afflicted mind, not doing it in the hope of obtaining gains and respects from kings and others who have faith in the Buddha, offering with appropriate objects, these are six. Appropriate objects are: inappropriate ones are smearing with cow dung, washing with ghee, fumigating with guggul, using arka flowers, and so on, and others that are separated from suitable and unsuitable implements are suitable. Those material offerings, if they are not accumulated by oneself, nor begged from others, then, for all the offerings of the Tathagata, wherever they are in the world, one should rejoice with a mind filled with joy and great faith, and with little effort, one can fully accumulate the accumulations of Bodhi with immeasurable and vast offerings, and for this, one should always strive with a mind of ease and joy. As stated in the "Cloud of Jewels" and the "Three Samaya Categories," one should also offer flowers, fruits, trees, and jewels, etc., that are not owned by anyone. The offering of practice is: even if it is just a little, one should remember the four immeasurables, the four seals of Dharma, the three refuges, the Paramitas, have faith in the profound emptiness and abide in non-discrimination, guard the precepts, cultivate the limbs of enlightenment, the Paramitas, and the four ways of gathering disciples, and strive.
