Furthermore, when he sees beings trapped in the prison of samsara, the upright sage generates compassion. Moreover, when he sees sentient beings overwhelmed by desire, those who are greedy and always crave objects, those who have fallen into the ocean of craving and attachment, the victorious ones generate great compassion. When he sees sentient beings tormented by many kinds of sickness and suffering, those tormented by afflictions, the Buddha, possessing the ten powers, generates great compassion in order to eliminate all suffering. The great compassion of the Buddha constantly arises, and it is never possible that it does not arise. Because he dwells in the minds of all beings, therefore the Buddha has no faults. Thus, one should remember. The qualities of activity are that the activities of body, speech, and mind are spontaneously accomplished, and that he benefits all sentient beings in an uninterrupted manner. That is to say, if from the perspective of those to be tamed, if they are suitable for taming, the Buddha will definitely connect them with excellence and liberate them from decline, so he will certainly accomplish all that is appropriate to do. As it says in the Hundred and Fifty Verses: You have explained how to destroy afflictions, you have shown the deceptions of the demons, you have spoken of the unbearable nature of samsara, and you have also shown the path of fearlessness. With the intention to benefit and with compassion, what should you do for sentient beings that you have not done? What else is there? And as it says in the Praise of Praiseworthy: From what have you not delivered beings, what is that decline? What is that excellence with which the world has not been connected? Thus, one should remember. These are brief ways to remember the Buddha. If one remembers from various doors, faith will also arise from many doors. If one remembers again and again, the force will become strong and long-lasting. The qualities of the other two jewels are also the same. If one becomes proficient in this way of meditating, most of the scriptures and commentaries will show the qualities of the Three Jewels, so these will appear as instructions. If one thinks that analytical meditation is conceptual thought and abandons it during practice, then one is blocking the many doors of accumulating merit and purifying obscurations and remaining stagnant, thus wasting the leisure and endowment.

It should be known that this is a great obstacle to taking immeasurable merit. If these are made into daily practice, because the mind will become accustomed, although it is difficult to train the mind at first, it will naturally integrate into it later. And, thinking that if I could also attain such a state of remembering the Buddha, thereby generating Bodhicitta. Day and night, one will be able to see the Buddha, and at the time of death, no matter what suffering one experiences, one will not lose the remembrance of the Buddha. As the Samadhiraja Sutra says: You should be admonished and made to understand, just as people generate many conceptual thoughts, the conceptual thoughts that abide therein will similarly cause the mind to focus on it. Similarly, remember the form of the Victorious One, and the immeasurable wisdom of the Sage. If one constantly cultivates remembrance, the mind will deeply immerse itself in it. When walking, standing, sitting, and lying down, one should cherish the wisdom of the noble being. Desiring to become the supreme protector of the world, and with a desire to aspire to Bodhi. It also says: With great joy of body, speech, and mind, constantly praise the Buddhas. By cultivating the mindstream in this way, one will be able to see the protector of the world day and night. Whenever this person feels unwell due to illness, and even experiences the suffering of approaching death, the remembrance of the Buddha will not diminish, and will not be taken away by suffering. Potowa said: If you think about it repeatedly, the mind will become stronger and stronger, and the mindstream will become purer and purer, thereby generating blessings. After gaining certainty about this, take refuge from the depths of your heart, and merely learning his teachings, everything you do will become Dharma. We don't even think that the Buddha's wisdom is as powerful as the most astute diviner. For example, if the most powerful diviner says, this year you have no calamities, I know, you can pass it safely. If he says, this year there are calamities, avoid this and this, you will try hard to do it. If you fail to do it, you will think, I didn't do what he said, and feel uneasy. Do you believe in what the Buddha said, this and this should be abandoned, and this and this should be cultivated? If you fail to do it, do you feel uneasy?
