Completely attained through the kindness of the Lama. Body, speech, and mind are completely pure. The practitioner is a vessel for accomplishments. From the limbs of Samadhi arising. From the complete accumulation of collections. Swiftly accomplishment will be attained. Thus, the way of secret mantra is established. Thus it is said. Secondly, the necessity: If the Dharma cycles of the lesser and middling persons are the preliminaries for the great person, then it would be sufficient to do them as the stages of the path of the great person. Why is it necessary to use the term "stages of the path common to the lesser and middling persons"? There are two great necessities for leading the three types of persons separately: Thus, without generating the mind common to the lesser and middling persons, one can also subdue the pride of claiming oneself to be a great person, and it is beneficial to the three types of intelligence: superior, middling, and inferior. The way it is beneficial is: For the two higher types of persons, it is also necessary to seek higher realms and liberation, so showing the cultivation of the minds of these two for the great and middling persons to be guided will not become a fault, and it is for the sake of generating qualities; if it is an inferior person, then even if one cultivates from the higher, the higher mind will not arise, and if one abandons the lower, one will become nothing. Furthermore, if one shows the common path to those who have the fortune of the higher, then either it has already arisen from before, or even if it has not arisen before, those qualities will quickly arise, so when the lower and lower have arisen, it is sufficient to lead to the higher and higher, so there is no delay from one's own path. The reason why it is necessary to lead the mind gradually is: From the Sutra Requested by the King of Dharani Empowerment, the example of a skilled jeweler gradually polishing jewels was applied to the meaning and taught. Because of the fear of many words, it was not written. The Protector Nagarjuna also said: First, the Dharma of higher realms, later, excellence will surely arise, because after attaining higher realms, gradually excellence will come. Thus it is said that the path of higher realms and definite goodness should be led in stages. The noble Asanga also said: Furthermore, Bodhisattvas, in order to gradually accomplish the path of virtue, first teach the easy Dharma to sentient beings with childish intelligence, and cause them to follow the easy instructions and subsequent teachings.

Recognizing that they possess moderate wisdom, they accordingly teach the intermediate Dharma, as well as oral instructions and subsequent teachings. Recognizing that they possess vast wisdom, they teach the profound Dharma, as well as subtle oral instructions and subsequent teachings. This is the order in which beings are benefited. Thus it is said. Arya Deva also, in the Compendium of Practice Lamp, first trains in the intention of the Paramita Vehicle, and then enters into mantra, proving the necessity of order, and summarizing its meaning: For beings with initial karma, entering into the supreme meaning, the Fully Enlightened One, speaks of it like a ladder. Thus it is said. In the Four Hundred Verses also it says: First, avert non-merit, in the middle, avert self, finally, avert all views, whoever knows this, is wise. Thus the definite order of the path is spoken. The learned teacher Makol also said: Like color on a spotless cloth, first with words of generosity etc., generate goodness in the mind, then meditate on the Dharma. Thus it is said. This quote was also cited by the great scholar Chandrakirti, establishing the definite order of the path, and in practice, the order of leading the path seems extremely important, therefore one should gain firm conviction in this principle. Second, the actual method of taking the essence has three parts: training the mind in the stages of the path common to the small person, training the mind in the stages of the path common to the intermediate person, and training the mind in the stages of the path of the great person. The first has three parts: actually training the mind of the small person, the measure of the arising of that mind, and eliminating wrong conceptions about it. The first has two parts: generating the mind of seeking the next life, and relying on the means of happiness in the next life. The first has two parts: contemplating the impermanence of this world, remembering death, and contemplating the happiness and suffering of the two destinies, how they will change in the next life. The first has four parts: the faults of not meditating on the remembrance of death, the benefits of meditating, what kind of mind of remembrance of death should be generated, meditating on the remembrance of death.
