As it is said, even the gods pray for this body. Furthermore, some desire gods who have thick imprints of practicing the path in previous human bodies can initially serve as a basis for seeing the truth, but it is impossible to attain the noble path for the first time in higher realm bodies. Moreover, most desire gods are said to be in unfavorable states as mentioned before, so humans are supreme for the body in which to initially practice the path. Furthermore, a body with unpleasant sounds is not suitable for upholding vows, so the bodies of the three continents are praised, and among them, the body of Jambudvipa (Rose Apple Island, i.e., our world) is praised. Therefore, having obtained such a good body, why should I make it fruitless? If I make it meaningless, it is deceiving myself, and what could be greater foolishness than this? Having passed through many dangerous places of unfavorable states such as the lower realms, and having been liberated just once with great difficulty, if I make it meaningless and return to those places again, it would be as if I have been bewildered by a mantra, and I would have become mindless. One should contemplate this again and again through such thoughts. The noble hero said: "If one obtains what in samsara, can produce the seed of going to the other shore, the supreme seed of the glory of enlightenment, which is superior to a wish-fulfilling jewel, those who possess a continuous stream of qualities, who would make it fruitless here?" And in the Bodhicharyavatara (Guide to the Bodhisattva's Way of Life) it also says: "Having obtained such leisure, if I do not cultivate virtue, there is no greater deception than this, and there is no greater foolishness than this. If I understand this, and still am lazy because of foolishness, at the time of death, great sorrow will arise. If the fires of hell burn my body for a long time, unbearable regret will blaze, and my mind will undoubtedly be tormented. Having accidentally obtained a place of great benefit that is very difficult to find, if I, possessing wisdom, lead myself back to that hell, like being bewildered by a mantra, I am mindless here. Why am I bewildered, I do not even know, what is in my heart?" Thus it is said. The Teacher also said to the attendant: "Do you remember obtaining a human body with leisure and endowments?"
