Non-conceptualization preceded by analysis is necessary; mere non-conceptualization is not sufficient. Also, in the Final Stages of Meditation, it says: "If that is the case, then the arising of non-recollection and non-attention from the holy Dharma should also be regarded as preceded by correct discrimination. For correct discrimination itself can bring about non-recollection and non-attention; otherwise, it is not possible." Moreover, it is stated in the Holy Cloud of Jewels and the Explanations of Definitive Meaning, among others, that insight is the very nature of correct discrimination. In the Holy Cloud of Jewels, it is stated: "Having examined with insight, realizing the absence of inherent existence is entering into the signless." Also, in the Holy Lankavatara Sutra, it is stated: "Great Wisdom, because if examined with wisdom, the characteristics of self and generalities are not understood, therefore all phenomena are said to be without inherent existence." If it is not correct discrimination, then it would contradict the various forms of correct discrimination taught by the Bhagavan in those sutras. Therefore, it is appropriate to say, "I am of little wisdom and little diligence, and I am unable to fully seek much learning." But because the Bhagavan praised much learning, it is not appropriate to abandon it at all times. It should be understood as stated. Similarly, all those statements that one should not abide in anything from form to omniscience are saying that they should not be grasped as truly existing objects to be abided in. If that were not the case, then since it is also said of the six perfections and so on, one would have to not abide in them as well. Not being able to abide by grasping as true also depends on realizing that they are not true, as previously explained. Therefore, know that all such statements of non-abiding and non-conceptualization are spoken only with the correct discrimination that prevents the inherent existence or truth of objects as their precursor. Therefore, know that when the scriptures speak of the inconceivable and beyond thought, etc., one should not assume that one has realized the profound meaning merely by hearing and thinking about it.

In order to refute the view of "Ma," it is said that these are to be known by each individual Arya through their own wisdom, and therefore it is taught that others cannot conceive of them, etc. Also, it is said to refute the grasping of the profound meaning as real and the non-thoroughly proper way of thinking. It should be understood that this is not to prevent the thorough and proper examination by the wisdom of individual discrimination. As it says in the Final Stages of Meditation: "Thus, wherever one hears the words 'inconceivable,' etc., if there are those who think that they can understand it only by hearing and thinking about it, then in order to refute the arrogance of these people, it is taught that the dharmas are to be known by each individual. It should be understood that it is to truly refute the improper way of thinking, not to refute the truly individual discrimination. If it is not like that, it will contradict a great many reasons and scriptures." The way it contradicts many scriptures is: In the chapter of Light Protector: Light Protector: "What is the thorough and proper individual discrimination in the Middle Way dharmas?" Light Protector: "Whatever is individually discriminated as no self, no sentient being, no life, no nourishment, no person, no individual, no power-born, and no power-child. Light Protector, this is called the thorough and proper individual discrimination in the Middle Way dharmas." Such words as these are contradictory. In the First Stages of Meditation, it also says: "In the dharani of entering into non-conceptualization, by not attending to the mind, one abandons the signs of form, etc." What is said here is that when examined by wisdom, one does not attend to the mind where there is nothing to be found. It is not just not attending to the mind, like the attainment of non-perception. From beginningless time, one cannot abandon the mind that is attached to form, etc., just by abandoning the mind. This passage says that the explanation of this dharani is also clearly stated by this teacher. In short, in the Great Vehicle, there is no other view than the two views extensively explained by the treatises of the Arya Nagarjuna and the Arya Asanga. The wise and accomplished masters of Tibet and China also follow either of these two views.
