It is absolutely unacceptable to think that one must abandon something because of attachment. If it were not so, then all the certainty of dependent origination would turn into a great fault of being impossible to achieve. This has been said many times before. There is no doubt that this also fails to distinguish between the factual existence of illusion-like things and their true existence. Furthermore, at first, one might think that when analyzing objects with reason, they do not seem to exist. Then, the analyzer also sees the same situation as the objects, and thus there are those who determine that they do not exist. In this way, for anything, there is no way to determine "what is this, what is not this", and as a result, the appearance becomes vague. The appearance of this vagueness arises because one has not distinguished between the existence or non-existence of inherent existence and mere existence or non-existence, but relies on reason to negate everything. Therefore, such emptiness is also the emptiness that destroys dependent origination. Therefore, the vague appearance that arises from realizing it is definitely not the factual existence of illusion-like things. Therefore, when analyzing with reason, one might think that there is not even a slight way in which things, such as persons, exist on the basis of their own inherent existence. And, relying on this, it is not difficult for these appearances to merely appear vaguely. Like this, all those who believe in the Madhyamaka school and have heard some teachings on showing the nature of non-inherent existence will think this way. The difficulty lies in completely negating inherent existence established by its own nature, and in fundamentally determining that those persons, etc., who lack inherent existence are the very ones who accumulate karma and experience the results, etc. The state of possessing both of these, which can establish them, is as distant as the horizon, so the view of Madhyamaka is very difficult to obtain. If one does not obtain such a view, then the greater the certainty of the view, the smaller the certainty in terms of conduct. And the greater the certainty in terms of conduct, the smaller the certainty of the view, there is no doubt about that. Therefore, there is no way to generate great certainty with equal strength in both. Therefore, one will inevitably fall either into the extreme of superimposition, clinging to inherent existence established by its own nature, as well as the eternalist view and the view of things existing; or one will fall into the extreme of denigration, clinging to the view that things are empty of all functions, as well as the nihilistic view and the view of things not existing. If so, in the Samadhiraja Sutra, it says: At that time, sinless, possessing ten powers

Ah! The Victorious One abides in this supreme Samadhi. Sentient beings are like dreams. In this, there is no birth and no death. There are no sentient beings and no life. All dharmas are like bubbles and water foam. Like illusions, like lightning in the sky, Like the moon in water and mirages. Some people die in this world, But there is no transference to other worlds. However, the deeds done are never lost. In samsara, black and white fruits ripen. It is neither permanent nor does it cease. However, there is no accumulation of karma and no abiding. After doing karma, it is not that one does not experience it. There is also no experiencing of karma done by others. Thus, although one cannot find the individual who is born and dies through reasoning, the fruits of black and white arise from the dharmas that are like illusions. It is not that one does not experience the result after doing karma. There is no encountering of unfabricated results where others do karma and others experience it. One should seek such certainty. The way to seek certainty is: as previously said, make the general characteristic of what is refuted by reasoning appear well. Think well about how ignorance in one's own mind exaggerates self-nature and recognize it. Then, if there is such a self-nature, the way it does not go beyond one and different, and the way there is harm in accepting both, should be well thought about and determined. Generate certainty by seeing the harm, and finally stabilize the certainty that the individual has no self-nature at all, and practice emptiness in this way. After that, make the appearances of the individual's designations that cannot be denied appear in the mind. From there, contemplate the aspects of dependent arising that establish the accumulator and the experiencer of the result, and gain certainty about the reasons why dependent arising is reasonable without self-nature. If the two appear contradictory, then take examples such as images and think about the ways in which they are not contradictory. Thus, the image of a face, although empty of the dharmas that appear to the eyes and ears, arises depending on the face and the mirror, and if some of those conditions change, it is destroyed. In the same way that the two combine undeniably in one place, so too with the individual.
