Regarding whether my own nature is established, it is examined with reason. Then, because it is thought that those meanings can be obtained by the reason that examines in that way, it is established in this way. Therefore, for such things, it must be admitted that other reasons examine whether there is self-nature or not. Because it is thought that that meaning can be examined by reason. When examining in that way, because the burden of the examination of immaculate reason cannot be borne, those things will be negated if they cannot be obtained by reason. Because if those things exist, they must be obtained by those reasons. Form, sound, etc., are only established as they appear in front of the conventional consciousness that is free from the harm of internal and external causes of confusion. Regarding those things, it is not after examining "Are these just conventional truths? Or are they established in that way in terms of the reality of meaning?" and admitting that the examination in that way can obtain the self-nature of self-establishment. Therefore, for those things, it is impossible to conduct a rational examination of whether there is self-nature or not. Because it is not thought that those meanings can be examined by reason. For example, it is like saying "This is a sheep" and not being able to examine "Then is it a horse or an elephant?" Although it is a meaning that has appeared in the world since beginningless time, the things that do not exist even in conventional truth because they are harmed by reason are: ignorance imputing self-nature to things, and worldly views clinging to the self and what is mine that are established by self-nature, and clinging to yesterday's mountain as today's mountain, etc. Therefore, it is not that Madhyamikas think that everything that appears in the world is conventional truth. Some people think that the reasons why form, sound, etc., and the things established by non-Buddhists are different in whether they exist in conventional truth are that the former is known to all beings in the world, and the latter is only known to sectarian theorists. To say this is undifferentiated. Otherwise, in conventional truth, form, etc., should not be like illusions, but should be established by self-nature, etc., there will be many faults. In the commentary on the Sixty Stanzas of Reasoning, it is also said: "Moreover, inversion refers to clinging to happiness, etc., itself, because even in conventional truth, things do not exist in that way. Non-inversion refers to suffering, etc., itself."
