Because of this, right view and wrong view are confused, and if it is wrong, it is the same as not being wrong, resulting in a great upside-down view. Therefore, even if one is accustomed to this for a long time, one will not get even a little closer to the right view, but will go further and further away, because the establishment of the dependent origination of samsara and nirvana is extremely contradictory to the path of dependent origination that is acceptable to one's own school. Therefore, in the "Entering the Middle Way," it says: "The non-Buddhist, disturbed by the sleep of ignorance, imagines self as it is, and whatever is imagined on illusions, mirages, etc., is not even in the world, let alone in reality." This means that the non-common views of the non-Buddhists, and as quoted earlier, the non-common views of those in one's own school who assert substantiality, do not even exist in one's own conventional truth. Now, let's explain the meaning of this passage. So, how is it determined whether something exists or does not exist in conventional truth? I think that if it is known by the conventional consciousness, and the meaning of what is known is not harmed by other conventional valid cognitions, and it is not subject to harm by the reasoning that correctly examines whether reality or self-nature exists or not, then it is considered to exist in conventional truth; the opposite of this is considered not to exist. Among them, the conventional consciousness is merely following whatever appears in any phenomenon, and does not consider whether the meaning of the appearance is merely appearing in the mind in that way, or whether it is established in the nature of the thing itself. This kind of consciousness that engages without examination is what it is. It is called unexamined consciousness, but it is not that it does not examine at all. This is because worldly people or conventional consciousness accept things according to how they appear and are known, and not after examining the true nature of things, so it is also called worldly knowledge. Therefore, this kind of consciousness arises whether or not one's mind has been changed by a philosophical system, and no matter what kind of continuum it exists in, it is called worldly knowledge or unexamined consciousness, and it is not considered to exist only in the continuum of worldly people whose minds have not been changed by a philosophical system. Even for those whose minds have been changed by a philosophical system, they still follow the worldly knowledge.

Even if there are many minds that discern "is it like that, or does it abide just like that," why is there a need for a mind that discerns how all its knowledge exists? Therefore, how worldly fame is, is not only asking the old people in the world who are not attached to sectarianism, it is enough to see how the minds that have not been examined in the continuum of the attacker and the attacked operate. For that knowledge, fame is all those that become the basis for establishing the name of appearance or experience. Even if things like karma and its effects and the grounds and paths are not known to ordinary people, when they become objects through hearing and experience, etc., the knowledge that does not discern how they exist will also appear, so there is no fault of not being worldly fame. Nominal validity is harmed by others, for example, when a rope is mistaken for a snake, and a mirage is mistaken for water, although it is grasped by a mind that does not discern how it exists, however, because nominal validity harms the meaning it grasps, those are also non-existent in name. The reason why the reasoning that correctly distinguishes the existence or non-existence of self-nature does not cause harm is that the things that are established as names must be established by nominal validity, but the knowledge of the reasoning that correctly distinguishes the existence or non-existence of self-nature must not cause harm in any way. If it is established by reason, then it is established by its own nature, so it is contradictory to being a nominal meaning. Therefore, taking non-harm by reason and establishment by it as one, in name, happiness and suffering arise from virtue and non-virtue, and happiness and suffering arise from power and mastery, if both are, then they are the same, if not, then they are the same, there is no place for such wrong discrimination. The fact that power and mastery create happiness and suffering, and that virtue and non-virtue create happiness and suffering, although the two are the same in that they are not established by the reasoning that correctly distinguishes the existence or non-existence of self-nature, however, the harm and non-harm by reasoning are not the same in any way. In this regard, among the self and other schools, because the assertions of those who speak of real things are not common, the completely imputed partless grasping and the self, the master, and the power, etc., when they establish them, are like that.
