Echoes and reflections, and such things, appear to those who possess ignorance. Blue and other colors, as well as mind and feelings, and such things, appear to be true. However, the nature of reality does not appear in any way to those who possess ignorance. Therefore, whatever is false even in conventional truth is not the truth of conventional truth. If one were to say that it is unreasonable to consider blue and other colors as conventional truths while not considering images and the like as conventional truths, what would be the answer? Although both appear similarly to conceptual consciousness, images and the like are recognized as false by worldly consciousness itself, and therefore are not considered worldly conventional truths. Blue and other colors, although false, cannot be understood as false by worldly consciousness, and therefore are considered worldly conventional truths. If one thinks in this way, just as the truth or falsity of those two objects is established in relation to conceptual consciousness, so too the correctness or incorrectness of the two subjects is established in relation to conceptual consciousness. If one says that being non-erroneous depends on conceptual consciousness, then it contradicts being mistaken in convention. If the conceptual consciousness that is relied upon to establish non-erroneousness and the conceptual consciousness that is mistaken in convention are the same, then there is a contradiction. But if those two conventions are different, what contradiction is there? In this way, the refutation by reasoning of the inherent existence of forms and so on is not permissible in ultimate truth and must be done in convention. In the face of such a conceptual consciousness, sense consciousnesses are mistaken. But in the face of other self-proclaimed conceptual consciousnesses, they are not mistaken, and therefore there is no contradiction. For example, in worldly convention, it is like saying that some people have and some people do not have. Although the word "some" is the same, the "some" who have and the "some" who do not have are not considered to have the same meaning. Furthermore, being non-erroneous is established in relation to self-proclaimed worldly consciousness, and the Madhyamikas do not consider it to be non-erroneous, as it is said, "It is true from the world itself," and so on. Therefore, the Madhyamikas consider these to be mistaken, and even so, there is no contradiction in establishing the object as false. If the object were established as true, then...

It is contradictory to think that establishing with a confused mind is contradictory. In conventional terms, since all dharmas are considered to be like illusions, they are false in conventional terms, but it is not contradictory to establish them as relative truth. Because "ignorance obscures its own nature, it is conventional." In front of the conventional truth of ignorance mentioned above, the negation of the establishment of truth and all dharmas by their own nature, the two falsities in front of the conventionality established in front of whom are not contradictory. That falsehood is also false in the conventional, that is not the conventional truth. It is said that it is for the false cognition of the nominal quantity, and it is not enough to be false only in the nominal. In this way, the Madhyamikas establish many distinctions of samsara and nirvana in their own tradition in name only, and the ways of preventing the existence of the dharmas established by the realists with their own uncommon wishes in name only are very difficult, so it seems extremely rare to understand the establishment of the two truths without error. In this way, when negating the wishes of the realists to exist in the conventional, it is necessary to refute them through rational observation, and when one admits that birth and death etc. exist in the conventional, whether or not the discriminator admits it depends on the existence or non-existence of proof. Moreover, this also depends on following reason, so when reasoning and observing, the conventionality that one has admitted, and the two fabricated by the realists, if reason is harmed, then the harm is the same, and if there is no harm, then the non-harm is the same. If it is thought that freedom and mastery etc. do not exist in name only, then it must also be admitted that form etc. do not exist, and if these exist in name only, then it must also be admitted that freedom etc. also exist, and these two are seen to be the same. For any dharma, one cannot determine or admit what this is and what this is not according to one's own tradition, and one thinks that one has attained that suchness in Madhyamaka, and one thinks that one is in accordance with that kind of understanding, and one wants to cultivate the meaning of pure view by dwelling without clinging to anything. These kinds of people do not seem to be words that please the wise, as mentioned before, because the object of rational refutation has not been determined, the reason for negating self-nature destroys all nominal establishments.
