What good is the path to anyone? As it is also said in the Engaging in Bodhisattva Behavior, "In every way, the world is immeasurable." Therefore, even if it is not established by valid cognition, it is not reasonable to think that it exists, because it is not accepted by oneself and is not reasonable. If you admit birth, but do not admit the ultimate truth, you must admit the conventional truth. This is not reasonable, because it says in the Engaging in Bodhisattva Behavior, "At that time, by what reason is it unreasonable to arise from self and other? If that reason is also unreasonable in name, then how will your birth arise?" Because the reason for preventing birth in the ultimate truth also prevents it in name. Furthermore, if you think that it does not arise from any of the four, self, other, etc., but it does arise, then preventing birth in the ultimate truth, examining the four extremes to prevent it, will not be prevented, because there is a birth that is not any of those. If it arises from any of the four extremes, but does not recognize the other three, then it must arise from the other, which is not reasonable, because it says in the Engaging in Bodhisattva Behavior, "Arising from the other does not exist even in the world." Therefore, one should not add the distinction of ultimate truth to the prevention of birth, because the Clear Words prevents adding the distinction of ultimate truth. Some people say that they do not recognize birth, etc., even in name, while others think that they exist in name. Everyone says that by reason, the self-nature is prevented by the establishment of things by their own nature, which is undeniable for the doctrine of this teacher, because it is prevented from being established by self-nature in both truths. If there is no self-nature like this, then what is there after that? Therefore, adding the distinction of ultimate truth to the object to be negated is only the doctrine of the Svatantrika Madhyamaka, and they will explain it with their throats cleared. Second, showing that it is unreasonable is divided into two: showing that that doctrine prevents the uncommon characteristics of Madhyamaka, and that the statements of harm do not go wrong. First, there are three: identifying the characteristics of the Madhyamaka, how that doctrine prevents it, and how the Madhyamaka responds to it. The first is: In the Sixty Stanzas of Reasoning, it says: "By this virtue, may all beings accumulate the collections of merit and wisdom, and from the merit and wisdom, may they obtain the two supreme bodies."

As it is said, the fortunate beings to be tamed by the supreme vehicle, in the state of fruition, attain the two sacred bodies of Dharmakaya and Rupakaya. This depends on accumulating immeasurable amounts of merit and wisdom, inseparable from skillful means and wisdom, as previously explained in the state of the path. Moreover, in the conventional cause and effect, it is necessary to have a deep and unwavering conviction in the relationship of cause and effect, that from this cause arises this benefit and this fault. And it is necessary to rely on gaining certainty in how all phenomena are without even an atom of inherent existence, established by their own nature. Without these two, there will be no heartfelt learning of the complete path of both skillful means and wisdom. Thus, the cause for attaining the two bodies in the state of fruition, without erring in the key points of the path, depends on how the view of the basis is established. The way to establish the view is to gain certainty in the two truths just mentioned. Only a Madhyamika, seeing contradictions in the eyes of others, knows how to explain them as non-contradictory. Only a Madhyamika scholar with subtle, wise, and extremely broad intellect, being skilled in the means of realizing the two truths, establishes them without even a trace of contradiction, and attains the ultimate intention of the Buddhas. Relying on this, he generates extraordinary reverence for his own teacher and teachings, and declares with pure words: "Wise ones, the meaning of emptiness, which is empty of inherent existence, is the meaning of dependent arising, not the meaning of the non-existence of things that are empty of functional capacity." He proclaims this loudly and repeatedly. However, scholars of his own school who assert the reality of things, even though they are extremely well-versed in many fields of knowledge, do not accept the Madhyamika view and argue with the Madhyamikas, thinking that if all phenomena are empty and without any inherent existence, then there is no basis for establishing samsara and nirvana, such as bondage and liberation. As it says in the Root Verses: "If all these are empty, there is no arising and no ceasing, and the four noble truths are not.
