Thus spoke the master Yeshe De. As for the prostration of mind, it is the verse "Upon a single atom," which means that upon each and every atom, there are Buddhas equal in number to all atoms, surrounded by retinues of Bodhisattvas, dwelling in the center, and generating devotion by recollecting their qualities. As for the prostration of speech, it is the verse "Praises of them," which means that the praises of the qualities of all realms are inexhaustible. As it is said in the scriptures, each body transforms into countless heads, and each head transforms into countless tongues, and then they are uttered with melodious voices. Here, "voice" is praise, and its branch is the cause, which is the tongue. "Ocean" means many. As for the branch of offering, the supreme offering is the two verses "Excellent flowers." Excellent flowers are the wonderful flowers of the realms of gods and humans, and so on. Garlands are strings of various flowers, and both of these refer to all that is real and artificial. Musical instruments refer to stringed instruments, wind instruments, percussion instruments, and plucked instruments. Anointment is fragrant ointment. The supreme umbrella is the श्रेष्ठ(梵文天城体,śreṣṭha,梵文罗马拟音,superior) of umbrellas. Lamps are fragrant and bright things such as scented oil, and precious and bright jewels. Incense is mixed or single incense. Excellent clothing is the श्रेष्ठ(梵文天城体,śreṣṭha,梵文罗马拟音,superior) of all clothes. Excellent fragrance refers to offering fragrant water as bath water, which is said to fill the three thousand worlds with fragrance. Powdered incense is fragrant powder that can be scattered and burned, made into small packages or arranged in layers of colored powder to create mandalas, with a width and height equal to Mount Meru. Arrangement refers to the decorations added to the end of all the above items, usually referring to ornaments and various items. The unsurpassed offering is the verse "Whatever offerings." The supreme offering is the worldly offering, while here it refers to the nine excellent offerings emanated by powerful Bodhisattvas and others. The last two lines of the verses apply to everything not included in the above two, to show the motivation and object of prostration and offering. The branch of confessing sins is the section "Desire."
