Abandoning is thinking of abandoning, thereby obtaining joy and delight. One should act in accordance with virtuous dharmas and not act in accordance with non-virtuous ones. Thus it is said. Also, in the Sutra Requested by the Fierce One, it is said: 'Householder, if a Bodhisattva strives for listening and recitation, possessing generosity, discipline, patience, diligence, meditation, and wisdom, or if one possesses a four-line verse that accumulates the accumulations of the Bodhisattva path, from whomever one hears or receives or accepts it, one should respect that teacher with dharma. For as many kalpas as there are names, words, and letters in the verse that is taught, even if one serves and attends to that teacher without wavering with offerings, respect, and all kinds of worship. Householder, even so, the respect for the teacher as a teacher is not complete, let alone the respect that is not dharma?' Thus it is said. The third is remembering kindness. In the Ten Dharmas Sutra, it is said: 'I have wandered in samsara for a long time, you are the seeker; I have been obscured by ignorance and asleep for a long time, you are the awakener; I am drowning in the ocean of existence, you are the rescuer; I have entered the wrong path, you are the one who shows the good path; I am bound in the prison of existence, you are the liberator; I have been tormented by illness for a long time, you are the doctor; I am consumed by the fire of desire and so on, you are the rain cloud that pacifies it, I generate such a thought.' Thus it is said. In the Gandavyuha Sutra, it is also said: 'Noble Youth, good spiritual friends are those who protect me from all evil destinies; they are those who make me realize the equality of dharma; they are those who show the path of happiness and unhappiness; they are those who admonish with the practice of Samantabhadra; they are those who show the path to the city of all-knowing wisdom; they are those who transport me to the state of all-knowing wisdom; they are those who lead me into the ocean of the realm of dharma; they are those who show the ocean of knowledge of the three times; they are those who show the mandala of the assembly of noble ones; good spiritual friends are those who increase all my white dharmas.' Thus, one remembers and weeps. As it is said, one should remember that good spiritual friends are.

Attach the word "I" to the beginning of every sentence, and then visualize the image of a virtuous spiritual friend in front of you, reciting those words with your mouth and single-mindedly remembering their meaning in your mind. Use the words in the same way in the previous sutras as well. Furthermore, the Gandavyuha Sutra states: "This is my virtuous spiritual friend, the speaker of Dharma, who completely reveals all the qualities of the Dharma, who completely shows the conduct of a Bodhisattva. Thinking this with one mind, I have come here. These are like my mother who raises me, like a mother who feeds me with the milk of merit, who completely trains the limbs of enlightenment. These virtuous spiritual friends can dispel all harm, like a doctor who can liberate from old age and death, like Indra who pours down the rain of nectar, like the full moon that grows with white Dharma, like the bright sun that shows the direction of peace, like a mountain to enemies and friends, like an ocean with an undisturbed mind. Just like completely protecting and listening, with such a mind I have come here. The Bodhisattva increases my wisdom, the son of the Buddha generates enlightenment, these are my virtuous friends, praised by the Buddha. Like this, with a virtuous mind, I have come here. Like a hero who protects the world, like a helmsman who is a protector and refuge. These are the eyes that give me happiness, with such a mind I respectfully serve the virtuous spiritual friend." As it is said. It should also be remembered with the rhythm of verses, and Norzang (a name) should be changed to oneself to recite. Secondly, the way to serve with application is, as the Fifty Verses on the Guru states: "What need is there to say much here? Whatever pleases the Guru should be done, and whatever displeases the Guru should be abandoned. Strive to examine these. The accomplished teacher is a follower, as the Vajra Holder himself has said. Knowing this, with all things, completely please the Guru." As it is said. In short, one should strive to accomplish what pleases the Guru and abandon what displeases the Guru. There are three ways to please the Guru: offering wealth, serving with body and speech, and acting according to his instructions. As it is, the Ornament for the Sutras states: "Serve the virtuous spiritual friend with respect, gain, service, and through the means of practice." And, steadfast.
