Also listening, the attendants' attitude towards listening to him was not good, (he said) don't say that, I have received two benefits. Geshe Chungpa Lama was few, only five, among them Potowa and Gompa Rinchen Lama discussed which one was better. When the mind is not trained, it is easy to see faults and generate distrust, so it was unanimously agreed that Geshe Chungpa's way was better and should be done, this seems very important, so it should be done. Thus receiving kindness, in general, especially using the complete pith instructions to guide the mind, how to rely on such a spiritual friend, there are two ways: the way of relying on with intention and the way of relying on with action. The first way has three: generally explaining the intention of relying, especially cultivating the root faith, and remembering kindness and being respectful. The first is: In the Ornament of the Tree Sutra, it says to serve the spiritual friend with nine minds, this is a summary of the key points of all relying intentions. If these are summarized, there are four: abandoning autonomy and placing oneself under the control of the guru, this is like the mind of a virtuous son, a virtuous son does not have autonomy in doing things, but looks at the father's face, is controlled by the father, and does according to the father's words, similarly, one must also look at the face of the spiritual friend. In the current Actualized Buddha Samadhi it also says: Therefore, one must completely abandon one's own habits and act according to the spiritual friend's mind. This is said to be for those who possess qualities, one cannot just give snot to anyone. Making friendship unbreakable by anyone and stable, this is like the vajra mind, not broken by demons and bad friends, etc. The Sutra also says: Abandon unstable friendship and unstable faces. Bearing all the burdens of the guru's activities, this is like the earth mind, not getting tired even when entrusted with heavy responsibilities. Potowa said to the monks in front of him: You are so fortunate to have met a Geshe Bodhisattva like me and be able to do according to his words. Now don't take this as a burden, but as an ornament. How should one act when bearing burdens, there are six: the category of environment

Like a mountain-like mind, it is unmoved by whatever suffering arises. When Venerable (སྤྱན་སྔ་བ) was staying in Rukpa (རུག་པ), the practitioner Yonten Bar (ཡོན་ཏན་འབར) was so weakened by the extreme cold that he asked Jowo Zhonnu Drak (ཇོ་བོ་གཞོན་ནུ་གྲགས) for advice on whether to move around. He said, "Even staying in the comfortable Namgyal Khangzang (རྣམ་པར་རྒྱལ་བའི་ཁང་བཟང) won't help, because relying on a Mahayana spiritual friend and listening to the Dharma is unprecedented, so stay quietly." Just like that. Like the mind of a servant, one carries out all evil deeds without hesitation. In Tsang (གཙང་), there was an unpleasant incident among the Lotsawas (ལོ་པཎ), and Stonpa (སྟོན་པ) took off all his clothes, swept away all the dirt, and covered it with dry white soil, leaving no trace. A mandala (མཎྜལ) was also set up in front of Jowo (ཇོ་བོ), and Jowo said, "Ah! Even in India (རྒྱ་གར་) there is no one like you." Just like that. Like the mind of a broom, completely abandoning all arrogance and greater arrogance, and considering oneself lower than one's own guru. Geshe Stonpa (དགེ་བཤེས་སྟོན་པ) said, "The water of merit does not flow on the summit of arrogance." Venerable (སྤྱན་སྔའི་) said, "In spring, do you see the green grass growing first on the high mountain peaks, or do you see it growing first in the low-lying areas?" Just like that. Like the mind of a vehicle, one willingly takes on even the most difficult and heavy burdens of the guru's work. Like the mind of a dog, even if one is despised and scolded by the guru, one does not get angry. When Geshe Lhazo (དགེ་བཤེས་ལྷ་བཟོ) went to Todlungpa (སྟོད་ལུངས་པ) to visit and receive teachings in turn, Nyakmo Pa (ཉག་མོ་པ), a student of Lhazo (ལྷ་བཟོ), said, "Teacher, you seem to hate us, teacher and student." Lhazo (ལྷ་བཟོ) said, "Do you think this is scolding? Being treated like this by him in turn is like being blessed by Heruka (ཧེ་རུ་ཀ)." Just like that. It is also said in the Ashtasahasrika (བརྒྱད་སྟོང་པ་): "If the Dharma speaker despises those who do not seek the Dharma and does not care about them, you should not withdraw because of this, but rather strive for the Dharma, and follow him with respect and without weariness." Like the mind of a boat, no matter how much one engages in the guru's activities, one does not get tired of going back and forth. Second, cultivating the root of faith. In the Dharani of the Jewel Heap (དཀོན་མཆོག་ཏ་ལ་ལའི་གཟུངས་) it says: Faith Is generated like a mother who goes before.
