Therefore, it is also unreasonable to think that the statements of other sects are reasonable. If one thinks that using the enjoyment of sentient beings themselves is to do their benefit, then there is no fault in using it in this way. The Compendium of Trainings says: If one thinks that using the enjoyment with an owner is to protect the body with an owner, then there is no fault in using it in this way. A servant always works for the master, and his life does not depend on his own property. The Compendium of Trainings says. If one thinks that if offerings have already been offered to sentient beings, it would be a fault to use them without their permission, there is no fault in this. It says there: A servant who is very diligent in doing things for the master, even if the master is unconscious due to illness or other reasons, there is no fault in using it without permission. If one does not actually give everything to sentient beings, then thinking that renunciation is false, one should not disbelieve because one thinks that it is meaningless. It says there: For a bodhisattva who acts in that way, it is unreasonable for some people not to understand that point and disbelieve, because one must fully understand the inconceivable mind of giving. For this method, some people should not doubt. Third, there are three detailed classifications of giving: how all supports should be practiced, detailed classifications based on each support, and detailed classifications of the nature of giving itself. First, to make the six kinds of excellence, the excellent support is: relying on the mind of enlightenment, initiated by it and acting. The excellent object is: generally speaking, all things of giving are enjoyment, and when entering into each difference, one does not abandon that idea. The excellent purpose is: to give for the temporary happiness and ultimate benefit of all sentient beings. The excellent means is: it is said to be held by the wisdom of non-discrimination, and for the initial practitioner, it is held by the wisdom of understanding the selflessness of phenomena. The excellent dedication is: dedicating the merit of giving to complete enlightenment. The excellent purity is: preventing afflictions and the two obscurations of knowledge, which is explained in the Compendium of the Great Vehicle. To make the six perfections complete: if one does something like giving the Dharma, then the attention of the hearers and solitary realizers, the discipline and the Dharma of omniscience

Patience and enduring the abuse of others, diligence in generating intention to increase patience further and further, meditation of dedicating the roots of virtue to complete enlightenment with a single-pointed mind that is not mixed with the Lesser Vehicle, and wisdom that knows that the objects of giving, the givers, and the recipients are like illusions. If these six are complete, then the power is very great. These are stated in the great commentary on the Eight Thousand Verses. The second point is that, in general, material giving is done by lay bodhisattvas, while ordained bodhisattvas should practice Dharma giving. In the Bodhisattva Pratimoksha Sutra, it says: Shariputra, if a lay bodhisattva fills Buddha fields as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River with the seven precious jewels and offers them to the Tathagatas, Arhats, perfectly enlightened Buddhas, Shariputra, if an ordained bodhisattva teaches a four-line verse, then this person accumulates even more merit. Shariputra, the Tathagata does not allow the ordained to practice material giving. The meaning here is that it is intended to avoid becoming an obstacle to hearing the Dharma, etc. The Compendium of Trainings states that it is forbidden for ordained people to strive for wealth and then give it away. If it does not harm one's own virtuous deeds, and one obtains a lot of wealth due to past merit, then one should give material things. Sharawa also said: I will not speak of the benefits of giving, but of the faults of attachment. This refers to the fact that ordained people work hard to find and accumulate wealth, thereby causing much damage to their discipline, and they are not happy with such giving. There are three types of giving: Dharma giving is to teach the true Dharma without distortion, to teach worldly activities such as crafts that are without fault, and to make them the basis of learning. Fearless giving is to protect all sentient beings from the fear of humans such as kings and thieves, from the fear of non-humans such as lions, tigers, and crocodiles, and from the fear of natural disasters such as water and fire.
