This is the suchness of all dharmas. Whether the Tathagatas appear or do not appear, the element of dharma remains as it is. Thus, all dharmas are emptiness, and all dharmas are without characteristics. This is not to make subtle distinctions among the Tathagatas, but even the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas attain this non-conceptual suchness. Furthermore, son of good family, look at our immeasurable body, immeasurable wisdom, immeasurable Buddha-fields, immeasurable manifestation of wisdom, immeasurable circle of light, and immeasurable pure qualities of voice. You too, generate such practice. So it is said. Furthermore, just as a large ship enters the ocean and travels with favorable winds, the distance it covers in one day cannot be covered in a hundred years even with dedicated effort before entering the ocean. Similarly, having reached the eighth bhumi, without relying on great effort, the extent to which the path of omniscience is traversed in an instant cannot be achieved even by striving on the path for hundreds of thousands of kalpas before attaining that bhumi, as stated in the Dashabhumika Sutra. Saying there is a shortcut and not studying the conduct of a Bodhisattva is deceiving oneself. If one thinks that giving and so forth are not necessary, but one does not cling to anything, then all of these are complete. Because one does not cling to the giver, the receiver, and the object of giving, one possesses the giving without characteristics. Similarly, the others are also complete. It is also said in the sutra that each one contains six, so one thinks. If that much is enough, then even the one-pointed samatha of the non-Buddhists, when they are in equipoise, are without clinging in that way, so they would possess all the perfections. Especially, as quoted earlier, when the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas do not conceptualize the suchness of dharma, they possess all the conduct of a Bodhisattva, and therefore they become Mahayanists. If one thinks that it is enough that each one contains six, then when offering a mandala, it is also said that there are six with the offering of cow dung and water, so one should only do that.

Therefore, conduct grasped by view and wisdom grasped by means are like a mother tormented by the grief of losing her beloved child. When she engages in speaking with others, whatever thoughts arise, even if the force of grief has not let go of her, not all those thoughts need be thoughts of grief. Similarly, if the wisdom that realizes emptiness is strong, then when giving alms, prostrating, circumambulating, and reciting, even though the minds focused on those things are not realizations of emptiness, it is not contradictory for them to engage with its essence or power. For example, at the beginning of a session, if a strong mind of enlightenment is sent forth beforehand, then when abiding in the samadhi of emptiness, even though the mind of enlightenment is not actually present, it is not contradictory for it to be grasped by its essence. Therefore, that is called giving without an object of focus. It is not possible to give alms if there is no mind of giving at all. Likewise, the remainder should also be understood. The way in which means and wisdom are inseparable should also be understood in that way. One should also not be confused about the fruits of the accumulations of merit being spoken of as the body, enjoyments, and long life of samsara, etc. If one is without skill in means and wisdom, then that is indeed the case, but if one is grasped by them, then one is extremely suitable as a cause for liberation and omniscience. As it says in the Precious Garland: "The Form Body, in brief, is born from the king of merit accumulations." As it is said, the scriptures are limitless. Furthermore, you sometimes say that all misdeeds and afflictions that lead to bad migrations can also be transformed into the cause of Buddhahood, and sometimes you say that the virtues of giving and morality, etc., which become the cause of higher realms, are also the cause of samsara and will not become the cause of enlightenment, so calm your mind and speak. Also, the sutra says: "Attachment to the six perfections, such as giving, is the work of Mara." And in the Three Skandha Sutra it says: "Having given alms by falling into focus, and having guarded morality with the pride of holding it supreme, etc., I confess all of those individually." And in the Brahma's Inquiry Sutra it says: "All that is discrimination is conceptual thought. Complete non-discrimination is enlightenment." One should also not be confused about these, the meaning of the first
