Please translate! To make offerings to the teacher and the Dharma is: As said by Queen Shrimala, the Blessed One himself prepared the seat, etc. The Dharma is the field of merit that even the Buddhas respect, therefore, one should have great respect for the Dharma, remember the teacher's qualities and kindness, and thereby generate respect. How should one explain with what kind of intention and behavior? The intention is: To establish the five kinds of attention mentioned in the questions of Sagaramati, namely, to generate the attention that it is beneficial to oneself, beneficial to the Dharma, the listener of the Dharma is like a patient, the Tathagata is like a great man, and the Dharma's discipline will abide for a long time, and to cultivate love for the retinue. To cut off the jealousy arising from envying others' promotion, the laziness of procrastination, the fatigue arising from repeated explanations, boasting oneself, talking about others' faults, being stingy with the Dharma, and paying attention to trivial matters such as food and clothing. Thinking in the heart that for the sake of oneself and others attaining Buddhahood, the merit of the teachings is my object of happiness. The behavior is: After bathing, maintain cleanliness, put on clean clothes, and in a clean and pleasant place, sit on the Dharma seat and cushion. Recite the mantra of subduing the demons, then within a hundred yojanas around it, the demons and the gods of the demon hordes will not come. Even if they come, they will not be able to create obstacles, as it is said in the questions of Sagaramati, therefore, recite that mantra. With a radiant face, explain with definite parts of meaning, namely, metaphors, reasons, and scriptural proofs. As the "Lotus Sutra of the Wonderful Dharma" says: The wise person is always without jealousy, and also speaks pleasant words with various meanings. Thoroughly cut off laziness, and do not generate thoughts of fatigue. The wise person thoroughly abandons all displeasure, and should cultivate the power of love for the retinue. Day and night, one should also diligently practice the supreme Dharma. The wise person makes the retinue happy with hundreds of thousands of kotis of metaphors, and likewise makes them joyful. There is never any greed for this, and one does not consider food, drink, edibles, and utensils, clothes, bedding, Dharma robes, etc., as well as medicine for healing illnesses, and one does not demand anything from the retinue. Furthermore, the wise person always himself and these sentient beings can attain Buddhahood.

May all be perfectly accomplished! Whatever Dharma is taught for the benefit of the world, I think of it as the provision for my own happiness. Thus it is said. As for the difference between where to teach and where not to teach, as it is said in the Vinaya Sutra: "Without being requested, it should not be done." As it is said. One should not teach without being requested, and even when requesting, one should examine the vessel, and if one knows it is a vessel, then one can teach even without being requested, as it is said in the Samadhiraja Sutra: "For the sake of giving the Dharma, if he makes a request to you, 'I have not been taught by the wise,' one should first say such words. Since you are wise and virtuous, how can I speak before the great being? You should say that, and you should not teach immediately, but after examining the vessel. If one knows that it is a capable vessel, one should also speak without being requested." Thus it is said. Furthermore, in the Vinaya Sutra it is said: "When sitting, one should not teach the Dharma while standing. When lying down, one should not teach the Dharma while sitting. When sitting on a high seat, one should not teach while sitting on a low seat. The bad and the good are also the same. When walking in front, one should not teach while walking from behind. When walking on the road, one should not teach while walking on the edge of the road. One should not teach to those whose heads are covered, wrapped, tilted, whose necks are crossed, or whose backs are crossed. One should not teach to those who wear hair knots, hats, headdresses, garlands, or turbans. One should not teach to those who ride elephants, horses, sit on palanquins or vehicles, or wear shoes. One should not teach to those who hold canes, umbrellas, weapons, swords, arms, or wear armor." Thus it is said. In the opposite of the above situations, it is permissible to teach, which is in the case of being without illness. Finally, how should it be done in common? One should dedicate the merits arising from teaching and listening to the Dharma with strong aspiration to the temporary and ultimate wishes. If one teaches and listens to the Dharma in such a way, even in just one session, the benefits as stated in the sutras will undoubtedly arise. Relying on listening to and teaching the Dharma properly, all the previously accumulated karmic obscurations, such as disrespect for the Dharma and the teachers of the Dharma, will be purified, and the newly accumulated ones will be interrupted.
