Thinking, 'How wonderful it is to be ordained!' In the future, one should plant the seeds of ordination. A person of fierce temperament asked, 'I, too, shall emerge from the suffering of household life. When will I be able to practice like this? When will I be able to abide in the activities of the Sangha, the activities of the Uposatha, the activities of the Pravāraṇā, and the activities of prostration?' Therefore, one should rejoice in the mind of ordination in this way. Bodhisattvas abiding in the household should make such aspirations. This mainly refers to aspiring to receive the Bhikṣu vows. In the Ornament of the Sutras, it is also said: The aspects of ordination are endowed with immeasurable qualities. Therefore, a householder Bodhisattva who diligently observes vows is superior to (ordinary) Bodhisattvas. Thus, in order to accomplish liberation from samsara, not only is ordination praised as a basis, but also for accomplishing omniscience through the paths of the Pāramitās and Mantras, ordination is said to be the supreme basis. The vows of ordination are none other than the Prātimokṣa among the three vows, therefore one should respect the Prātimokṣa as the root of the teachings. Secondly, by meditating on what kind of path can one avert (obstacles)? The Letter to a Friend says: If a fire suddenly breaks out on your head or clothes, even abandoning the effort to put them out, strive to eliminate rebirth, for there is no more supreme need than this. Through pure morality, wisdom, and meditation, attain the state of peace, gentleness, and stainlessness of Nirvana, without aging, death, or decay, and obtain separation from earth, water, fire, wind, sun, and moon. As it is said, the path is that one must train in the three precious trainings. Among these, the reason for the fixed number of three trainings is threefold. First, from the perspective of the order of taming the mind, the fixed number is: making the distracted mind non-distracted is the training of morality; making the unsteadily abiding mind steadily abide is the training of Samādhi or mind; and making the unliberated mind liberated is the training of wisdom. Through these three, all the activities of yogis will be perfected. From the perspective of the result, the fixed number is: the result of not breaking morality is the desired

There are two destinations, and the result of decline is the evil realms. The result of mental discipline is the two good realms of the higher realms. The result of wisdom discipline is liberation. In short, what is to be accomplished are the two, higher rebirth and definite goodness. The former has two good realms of the upper and lower realms, so there are also three ways to accomplish it. These two are mentioned in the Basis of the Earth. The above are also considered as three in relation to the afflictions to be abandoned, namely, the three trainings are to refute afflictions, to suppress manifestation, and to abandon the seeds from the root. The order is determined by quoting from the Brahma's Questions on the Basis of the Earth: "The root is very firm, Delight in the peaceful mind, The view of the noble and the view of sin, Should be possessed and separated." It is shown by saying that. Therefore, morality is the root, because the other two come from it. Relying on morality, being delighted in placing the mind in equanimity is the second. Because the mind is placed in equanimity, seeing what is truly as it is, therefore possessing the view of the noble and being separated from the view of sin is the third. The nature of the three trainings is, as stated in Brahma's Questions: "Having six branches, Having four abodes of bliss, The four natures of the four, Are always pure wisdom." As it is said. Among them, the training of morality is having six branches, that is, having morality and being restrained by the vows of individual liberation, these two show the pure morality that definitely leads to liberation. Having rituals and practices, these two show the pure morality that is not despised. Even being afraid of the slightest fault shows the pure morality that is not damaged. Taking and learning the bases of training correctly shows the pure morality that is not inverted. The four abodes of the mind are the four meditations, and being happy to abide in this life is having happiness, that is, the training of the mind. The four are the four truths, and their four aspects are impermanence, suffering, emptiness, and selflessness for suffering. The origin has cause, origin, arising, and condition. Cessation truth has cessation, peace, excellence, and definite emergence. The path truth

These are the path, the reason, the practice, and the determination. The sixteen aspects of realizing these sixteen are the training in wisdom. Here, if we lead the self-interested person of the middling sort on the path, although it is necessary to extensively explain the method of leading in the three trainings, it is not so, therefore, the method of cultivating insight, higher vision, and the training of the mind, calm abiding, will be extensively explained in the context of the great being, so I will not elaborate on it here. Therefore, I will briefly describe the method of training in ethics. First of all, one should repeatedly contemplate the benefits of ethics and generate joy and diligence from the bottom of one's heart. As the Great Nirvana Sutra says: Ethics is the ladder of all virtuous dharmas. Just as the root of trees and so on is the earth, it is the root. Just as the merchant chief goes first for all merchants, it is the first to go for all virtuous dharmas. Just as the banner of Indra is raised, it is the banner of all dharmas. It can cut off all sins and the path of evil destinies. It can cure all diseases of sin, like a medicinal tree. It is the provision for the dangerous path of samsara. It is the weapon to destroy the enemy of afflictions. It is the mantra to dispel the poison of the poisonous snake of afflictions. It is the bridge to save from the water of sin. (From here, pages 350 to 358 are repeated) It is said. The venerable Nagarjuna also said: Ethics is like the land that can and cannot produce, it is the foundation of all good qualities. It is said. In the Sutra Requested by Strong Friend, it is also said: Just as all crops depend on the land and grow without harm, so depending on ethics, the supreme white dharma, moistened by the water of compassion, grows completely. Think like that. If one makes a promise and does not keep it, the faults are very great. In the Sutra Most Cherished by Monks, it is said: For some, ethics is happiness, for some, ethics is suffering. The one with ethics is happiness, the one who violates ethics is suffering. It is said that the promised training goes in both directions of benefit and fault. Therefore, one should think well about the faults and be very respectful of the training. How to train, from the four causes of falling
