It is said in the Bodhisattva-bhumi (བྱང་ས་) that one should generate renunciation. Because I was worried about having too many words, I didn't write it. Therefore, having thoroughly seen all the faults of samsara, although one is extremely disgusted, it is wonderful that one does not abandon samsara because of being drawn by great compassion. If one sees the perfections of samsara as an immeasurable palace, and one's attachment does not diminish at all, but one pretends to benefit others, saying that we do not abandon samsara, how can this satisfy the wise? The Essence of the Middle Way also says: "Because of seeing faults, one does not dwell in existence; because of compassion, one does not dwell in nirvana; in order to accomplish the benefit of others, one is diligent; even though in samsara, one abides." This is what it says. Furthermore, in order to generate great compassion for all sentient beings, as explained in the Bodhisattva-bhumi (བྱང་ས་), having seen the infinite sufferings like the one hundred and ten sufferings, one must generate a strong and lasting unbearable feeling in one's heart. And to say that one is not at all weary of samsara is very contradictory. First, one must generate renunciation towards samsara, and then, seeing those sentient beings as one's own relatives, the order of the path of entering the ocean of existence for their benefit is also the intention of the Four Hundred Verses on the Yogic Practice of Bodhisattvas. The great scholar Chandrakirti also clearly explained this in his commentary, as it says: "The Blessed One spoke of the faults of samsara, causing those who are frightened and wish to be liberated to be definitely associated with the Great Vehicle. The Buddha told the monks that in the long cycle of samsara, there is no sentient being in any birth who has not been your parents, siblings, relatives, or friends." It also says that the Bodhisattvas also understand the Buddha's teachings, and in order to save all the wandering and helpless sentient beings who have been parents and relatives since beginningless samsara with the boat of the Great Vehicle, they are worthy of offering. Therefore, this method is also necessary for the unsurpassed secret mantra. The Lamp for Compendium of Practice says: "With this order, one should enter into the practice that is extremely free from elaboration. Its order is this: first of all,

Merely by the practitioner remembering the suffering of beginningless samsara and desiring the bliss of nirvana, one should completely abandon all clamor. Even for the power of kingship, one should cultivate the concept of suffering. This is because it was said by Arya Deva. Fourth, determining the nature of the path to liberation: Shri Jagatamitra said: The ocean of suffering has no bottom or end, Though drowned in the depths of existence, Without sorrow or fear, joyful and arrogant, What is in our hearts? Poverty, difficulty in finding, guarding and losing, Separation, old age, sickness and decay, Though entering the ever-burning fire, We think it is happiness, I think we are crazy. And: Alas! The world is blind with eyes, Although seeing the obvious constantly, Still not thinking a little, Has your heart become a vajra? As it is said, one should encourage oneself and meditate on the faults of samsara. As it is said in the story of the seven young women: Seeing the world abiding like the moon in water, Seeing desire like the shadow of a coiled and raised snake, Seeing these beings burning in the fire of suffering, King, we will surely leave and happily go to the charnel grounds. As it is said, seeing the samsara of the outer and inner worlds like the moon in water moved by the wind, impermanent and decaying in an instant, the qualities of desire are small in taste and great in danger, like the shadow of a poisonous snake, and the five types of beings are burned by the fire of the three sufferings, feeling great pain. If one can generate a mind that renounces the three realms like the mind of a child from the north, then the desire to attain liberation will surely arise. A child from the north, because tsampa is scarce in the north, only eats a small amount of oil residue. A child is hungry and wants to eat tsampa, so he asks his mother for food. His mother has no tsampa, so she gives him wet oil residue, but the child does not want to eat it. Then she gives him dry oil residue, but he does not want it. Then she gives him fatty oil residue, but he still does not want it. Then she gives him cooked oil residue, but he still does not want it, and the child is unhappy and says that it is oil residue.
