Completely abandoning wrong views, self-grasping, and grasping at what belongs to oneself. Therefore, the wisdom that realizes selflessness, which abandons self-grasping, is said to be the root of the path. Even when Madhyamikas meditate on the unchanging great bliss, the non-duality of wisdom, it is said that they should meditate through the means of the two selflessnesses. The great commentary on the fifth chapter says that Madhyamikas meditate on the unchanging and non-dual wisdom like a dream. Therefore, it is the selflessness of persons and the selflessness of phenomena. Thus it is said. If it is not like that, then if the suchness that cuts the root of samsara, which is realized, is emptiness, then all sentient beings in samsara will have innate self-grasping, and there will be a way of grasping that grasps the reality of emptiness. Among these, the view of negating the self of persons is explained in the second chapter. Also, the reasoning for negating the self of phenomena is in the great commentary on the second chapter: Therefore, the Madhyamikas say: Consciousness exists as the ultimate truth. But the wise do not accept it, because it is separated from the nature of one and many, like a lotus in the sky. It is neither existent, nor non-existent, nor both existent and non-existent. Nor is it the nature of both. That which is liberated from the four extremes is what the Madhyamikas understand. Here, the reasoning of separation from one and many is explained. This commentary says: Therefore, the result is not from itself, not from another, not from both, and not without a cause. Like the diamond slivers and other Madhyamika reasonings are explained. Also, the Diamond Heart Commentary says: From the seed comes the sprout, without it, it will not arise. From the nature of the cause of the fruit, it is not from self, not from other, not from both, not without a cause. Whatever things, wherever they are, there is never any arising. Here it says that the sprout arises in dependence on the seed, but the arising of the fruit from the cause by its own nature is not established in any of the four extremes. The meaning of what the noble Nagarjuna said in the Root Wisdom, is in accordance with how the Venerable Chandrakirti explained it, and it is clearly explained. The commentary says that this is a brief explanation, and the details should be understood from the vast scriptures. Therefore, it is also said that it should be understood from the treatises of the Madhyamikas and others. Therefore,
