From this point to the word "related." That is, in other treatises, the object to be expressed arises in dependence on the expression, the necessity is the result of understanding the object to be expressed, and the ultimate necessity is the result of the necessity, which is the same in meaning as "related." Here, the nature of skillful means and wisdom, the supreme Vajra Yoga, the first Buddha, the Bhagavan Kalachakra, and so on, are the path, and all the profound meanings of the fruit are related by the characteristics of the object to be expressed and the expression of this tantra, and are taught with great emphasis. In many contexts, both above and below, such profound meanings of the path and fruit are beyond the scope of words and thoughts, cannot be expressed, and are beyond thought, etc. How is it that these repeated statements are not contradictory? In general, there are many ways in which scriptures, both above and below, state that things are beyond the scope of words and thoughts. For example, in the Seven Treatises on Valid Cognition, objects such as vases and cloths can generally be expressed by words and determined by thoughts, but considering that they are not established as the objects of words in the ultimate sense, it is stated that all natures are beyond the scope of words and thoughts. And in the Holy Unraveling of the Thought Sutra, it is stated that ultimate truth is beyond the scope of words and thoughts. And in the Great Vehicle Treatise, the Ratnagotravibhāga, it is stated that the essence of the Sugata is beyond the scope of words and thoughts. Furthermore, in the treatises of the Middle Way, it is stated that the nature of phenomena is not within the scope of words and thoughts. These are all because, when a noble one directly realizes the nature of phenomena with equanimous wisdom, there is a realization in which there is no subtle appearance of duality, like putting water into water, and it becomes of one taste. Even if the ultimate truth is expressed through words, and based on this, one understands how the characteristics of the ultimate truth exist through thought, at that time, it is impossible for distorted appearances of duality to arise in the nature of phenomena. Therefore, according to the way a noble one's wisdom realizes things, there is no use in relying on words to determine things through thought, because of the way things are realized through distorted appearances of duality. Therefore, the nature of phenomena is said to be beyond the scope of words and thoughts. Here, the paths and fruits such as the supreme unchanging bliss, and the samadhi of the yogi in whom those have arisen in the continuum, and how he experiences them, are explained in that way.

Because it is impossible to experience the continuity of understanding by relying on sound. Therefore, it is said in the scriptures to completely abandon sound concepts and speech, etc. If it were not so, and it could never be the object of sound concepts, then these meanings could not be definitively ascertained by disciples through relying on the explanation and hearing of the scriptures. For this purpose, explaining and hearing the scriptures, etc., would all become meaningless, and the meaning of the fourth empowerment would not be able to be expressed through language, so the fourth empowerment that transcends the world, at the time of the ripening empowerment, it would be impossible to give empowerment by any means, and before practicing the path, it would be impossible to separately determine the path and non-path. Having shown the connection in this way, it is necessary to accumulate the accumulation of merit by relying on the perfected generation stage, and to show that the ultimate accomplishment is the essential need through the completion stage, from "then in the mandala" and so on, and "great wisdom" and so on, in order. In this way, having fully manifested the characteristics of what is to be said, etc., add "the root tantra has been truly taught." For whom? For those sentient beings who are uncertain, with the thoughts of their own minds, that is, what was said before, certainty means: regarding the enjoyment of the five desires as a fault, and completely abandoning it, taking the vows of discipline, this is the supreme vow of the Hinayana Shravakas, it is the supreme vow, turning away from enjoying desires, being separated from this is uncertainty. Some people think that "supreme" and "numerous" are synonymous, so guarding numerous places of learning is a Bhikshu, guarding ten places of learning is a Shramanera, guarding five places of learning is the vow of a Upasaka, thinking that these are separated from the certainty of guarding for life, this explanation is not good. Because Bhikshu Bodhisattvas and Bhikshu Vajradharas, etc., are also very numerous, so the Pratimoksha vow is not necessarily the vow of the Shravakas. Therefore, here only the vow of the Shravakas is taken, not the general Pratimoksha vow. Therefore, it is not good to translate "supreme" as "numerous." Those who are uncertain in this way, the thoughts of their own minds generally refer to the five desires.
