This is not obtained by separating from previous karma, but by not attaining the supreme through the generation stage, and by separating from the path of the completion stage, combining it as a characteristic, it is very clearly explained. In the commentary, it says, "Then, how can one attain Buddhahood, which is the reversal of the three realms themselves, from seeing the form that has the characteristics of the three realms?" Although it is asked in this way, if it is asked, "The aggregates, elements, and sense bases of the practitioner are all dharmas of samsara, how can one attain nirvana when these are exhausted?" it would be consistent with the example of the tree worm below. The power of the Mahamudra path causes the essence-less samsara to be exhausted, and from there, without interruption, cultivating the path of the individual, the fruit of Buddhahood will arise. For example, the essence-less water tree, when the fruit ripens, the water tree decays, and the water tree arises completely from the root. Then, isn't it contradictory that the unchanging bliss arises relying on this body that arises from ignorance, and then completely exhausts that very ignorance? It is not contradictory, just as sin, that is, the worm, and the beings of the tree worm, crab, and other kinds, from which tree they arise, are decayed by the worm itself, so too, the supreme unchanging wisdom of the non-dual skillful means and wisdom yogi, although it initially arises from the body produced by ignorance, it completely decays the illusion, that is, the habitual tendencies of ignorance. Here, in the commentary, it says, "Then, the mind of enlightenment is said here to be the realm of matter, then, how can it be said to accomplish the non-material supreme unchanging wisdom Buddhahood itself?" The answer is, "Because the essence accomplishes the supreme unchanging by its unchanging nature." It is said like this. The mind of enlightenment is like a white lotus. Thus, the supreme unchanging great bliss of the yogi inseparable from emptiness, which is divided by the four joys and sixteen reversals, these classifications that are spoken of are to illustrate that the two extremes of samsara and nirvana are without, and that the bodhisattva does not waver from the vajra jewel lotus, and that skillful means and wisdom do not favor one side, etc.
