Appearances arise from entering, abiding, and dissolving. Shavaripa also said: When the ten winds enter the dhuti, one sees the ten signs of day and night, which are the limbs of individual gathering. This is what was said. In general, even by cultivating common samadhi, one can see something like light and the light of the sky, a boundary of the sky like a painting, as stated in the Lankavatara Sutra. Therefore, since similar phenomena such as smoke can arise from both wind entering and not entering the dhuti, it is very important to differentiate. Because many people hold onto some non-Buddhist and common samadhis as the completion stage of unsurpassed yoga, this seems to be a great obstacle to establishing habits on the pure path. If these differences are not distinguished, one might assume that any appearance of signs like smoke is a sign of gathering. When these signs appear, if one realizes that one does not possess the qualities described in the tantras and commentaries, one might think that even though the tantras say so, it is not true, and thus accumulate sin. All of this is a fault of not distinguishing between the signs of wind entering the dhuti and the signs of common samadhi. If one cannot distinguish in this way, one must assume that there is proof of special emptiness-form in the characteristic vehicle, which is too extreme. Therefore, regarding the differences between the signs of wind entering and not entering the dhuti, in the commentary on the Lamp Illuminating, in the explanation of "From the stable vajra path," "From the vajra path" refers to the signs of the five stages that should not be transgressed. One should understand it in this way, and in the commentary on the Oral Instructions, Ornament of Beauty, it is said that "signs will appear from stirring a little of the sense winds, as well as reversing, entering the dhuti, and dissolving," which is good, and one should understand it in this way. Third, the enhancing means is that the Kalachakra master said: "The enhancement of individual gathering is that one should vigorously engage in the action of binding." He believes that one should tightly engage in the action of binding. Some say that one should squint into a container filled with copper water, and then look at the sky, and emptiness-form will appear, etc., which is said to be the oral instruction of Khampa Galo. The meaning of the first needs to be examined. What is the meaning of tightly engaging in the action of binding? If it is adjusting the body points, etc., that have not yet appeared, then that is not understanding the root practice, and the enhancing means is practicing even after understanding the practice.

If it is accomplished, then it can be done. How can merely learning the meditation method be considered a "supplement"? If one knows the meditation method but does not achieve accomplishment through meditation, and then takes that very meditation method as a "supplement," then what should be done for those who have not achieved accomplishment? The answer is, if that is not accomplished, then do that itself. This goes into a cycle of "if that is not accomplished, then do that itself," so there is no need for such a "supplement." The second meaning also does not grasp the key point. If there is no method to gather the winds into the central channel (Tibetan: དྷཱུ་ཏཱིར, Sanskrit Devanagari: धूत, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: dhūta, literal Chinese meaning: central channel), and one only strives to manifest emptiness-form, then no matter how much emptiness-form appears without the winds entering the central channel (Tibetan: དྷཱུ་ཏཱིར, Sanskrit Devanagari: धूत, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: dhūta, literal Chinese meaning: central channel), it cannot be a branch of accomplishing the Great Seal of emptiness-form, nor can it be a branch of gathering. Therefore, here it is necessary to manifest the emptiness-form that arises from the winds entering the central channel (Tibetan: དྷཱུ་ཏཱིར, Sanskrit Devanagari: धूत, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: dhūta, literal Chinese meaning: central channel), and for that, it is first necessary for the winds to enter the central channel (Tibetan: དྷཱུ་ཏཱིར, Sanskrit Devanagari: धूत, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: dhūta, literal Chinese meaning: central channel). If that is present, then emptiness-form will naturally arise, so there is no need for other "supplements." If there is no method to enter the central channel (Tibetan: དྷཱུ་ཏཱིར, Sanskrit Devanagari: धूत, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: dhūta, literal Chinese meaning: central channel), and the basis of the "supplement" is placed on emptiness-form, then it is like abandoning the root and searching for the branches. Therefore, the tantra says, "If, through the various methods of gathering, etc., the desires of the mantra practitioners are still not accomplished." The commentary on this says, "Through the various methods of gathering, etc., because the winds of the right and left channels are not bound." If the gathered winds are not bound in the central channel (Tibetan: དྷཱུ་ཏཱིར, Sanskrit Devanagari: धूत, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: dhūta, literal Chinese meaning: central channel), then one should act according to the method of doing it forcefully. Even if one dies in the middle of meditation, one will obtain a special basis for practicing mantras in the next life, and through the imprints of meditating on the path, the path will quickly arise in the continuum, and one will attain supreme accomplishment. The fourth is, because it is similar to the direct perception of the senses, it is the direct perception of the senses. That is, because it has objects such as the form, sound, etc., of emptiness, it is similar to the direct perception of the senses, and direct perception is the clear appearance of emptiness-form, etc., which is free from conceptual thought. As it is said in the Commentary on Valid Cognition, "Following conceptual thought, there is no clear appearance of meaning." Therefore. The meaning of not being mistaken is that it does not deceive in accomplishing temporary and ultimate results. The fifth is, the divisions are ten types. The sixth is, one obtains temporary results, such as holding the words of mantras, etc., and ultimate results, such as the six uncontaminated aggregates of wisdom, etc. These signs pervade all stages of the six-branch yoga.
