Establishing such an ālaya in another tradition than this tradition, which is extensively explained in texts such as the Compendium of Topics and the Thirty Verses, is not accepted by any of the Indian and Tibetan scholars of the past, nor has it been done. If it were established in that way, then the ālaya-vijñāna would pervade from the time of ordinary beings until buddhahood is attained, with its essence unobscured and remaining only in an indeterminate state. If those were to become virtuous or afflicted, then it would have to be established as it has been well established that it contradicts being the basis of all habitual tendencies. Here, this consciousness, one of the three—semen, dust, and consciousness—indicated by the term ālaya-vijñāna, is as it was previously cited and explained in the first summary. The Wang Dor Ten states: At the time of death for ordinary people, the semen goes down and the dust goes up, and the consciousness goes into the bardo. It revolves in samsara by connecting to the place of rebirth. Yogis transform it with skillful means, drawing the essence upward and causing the dust to go downward, so the consciousness is born as the essence of unchanging bliss. This happens even before one attains a bhumi, let alone buddhahood. Therefore, from the time of ordinary beings, the consciousness is born as the essence of unchanging great bliss and focuses on emptiness, so it is unobscured. And it is extremely contradictory to the impossibility of changing from indeterminate to virtuous. Furthermore, the aspect of the ālaya is always said to be only neutral feeling. This, being born as the essence of unchanging bliss, is also extremely contradictory. Therefore, as it is said in the fifth chapter, this is merely the name given to the mind consciousness as the ālaya-vijñāna from the aspect of being the basis of all of samsara and nirvana. Therefore, do not follow the name and discriminate about the meaning, and remember that it was previously emphasized in detail that one should not grasp only one meaning from the aspect of the name. Just because the name ālaya-vijñāna appears, do not grasp its meaning as only the ālaya-vijñāna among the eight aggregates of consciousness. In general, in the context of mantra, the terminology of names is not necessarily one meaning, but there are many cases where it is applied to various things, such as in the Explanatory Tantra Vajra Garland, the life-force wind is said to be afflicted mind. Therefore, this tradition accepts external objects, and

The basis of non-acceptance is similar to the system of the venerable Chandrakirti. The other parts here are easy to understand. Now, in order to explain the first section of the seventh place, the place of the six realms, the relationship between the support and the supported of the six realms is explained, starting from "earth" etc., up to "becoming the support of all elements." Among them, "fire is the essence of earth" etc., essence is the fruit or meaning. It is true that fire is the essence of earth, because fire arises from stones striking each other. This refers to meanings such as these, but it does not mean that if it is fire, it is necessarily the essence of earth, nor is it of the same kind, because such fire and such earth are only temporary cause and effect, not fruits of the same kind, because it is not the solid nature of earth. This is what it means, and the following can be inferred by analogy. The water that is the essence of wind is like rain falling when the wind blows; the water that is the essence of earth is like water appearing when the earth is dug. When the holding earth and the empty wind become the essence of space, it is like relying on the space realm to form them. The virtue of space is to provide space for other things in its own place. The meaning of selflessness etc. is that before the rain is contained in the wind and has not yet fallen, the nature of the rain is not visible in the wind; but the water that exists in the earth, its wet essence can be seen even at that time. The rest is easy to understand. Having explained the support and the supported of the elements as causes in this way, the support and the supported of the aggregates and the collection of elements as results are explained, starting from "aggregates" etc., up to "becoming the ultimate" below. Among them, here with "body" etc., if among the collection of elements of one's own and one's parents' bodies, there is no previous moment as a companion, then even due to conditions such as ignorance, the later aggregates of name and form will not arise, so such a collection of elements must also be the cause of the aggregates. The rest is easy to understand. Now, in order to explain the section "six objects" of the seventh place, from "smell" etc., up to "from the state of happiness" is explained, that is, the arising of smell from earth etc. is in terms of the main aspect, but in reality
