The directional guardians in their respective directions will be accomplished without the need for examination. Then, those directional guardians, being pleased, promised to protect those who have entered this mandala, and they said this: "Blessed One, any king, a member of the royal family, who has been empowered from the crown of his head and has entered this mandala, and has received empowerment, or any son or daughter of good family who has faith, Blessed One, we will always protect, guard, and conceal them at all times. We will destroy all the armies of the enemy. We will send down rain at the right times. We will produce grains, flowers, and fruits." Except for Indra and the fire god, each of them made separate promises. Furthermore, citing the extensive sutra on the afflictions caused by zombies and the distinctive past aspirations of the seven Tathagatas, Kama Dhenu spoke of power. I shall separately avert them. Then, the great lord of the Rakshasas, Riti, also said this: "Bhagavan, I also, to that king, and the Kshatriya prince, the Brahmin, the Vaishya caste, the Kshatriya caste, or anyone else, will not cause disease, will not cause fear of pretas and spirits. I will not cause fear from Rakshasas and so forth. I will not cause fear from untimely death. I will protect, guard, and conceal at all times." I will prevent the faults of the Nagas from occurring. I will not send down poison and hail. I will separately avert untimely deaths." Then, the wind king Yava Ve also said this: "Bhagavan, I also will ensure that great being does not experience fear of wind at any time. I will not cause untimely winds to occur. I will ensure that all wealth and grains are abundant. I will protect my own retinue, and all retinues, countries, dwellings, servants, marital relatives, blood relatives, friends, sons, daughters, wives, and so forth. I will also protect bulls, cows, donkeys, mules, sheep, buffaloes, oxen, horses, goats, and so forth." Then, the lord of the Bhutas, the Independent One, also prostrated to the Bhagavan and said,
