Therefore, these two are the general and the detailed explanation, so the sum of the two is the first of the five stages. It does not refer to the second stage other than the blessing stage. If I say that I am the second stage of the blessing stage, then in the case of the inconceivable stage, the fifth stage should be mentioned. It is unreasonable to say that, because the variegated vajra stage is the third stage, the treasure vase filling stage is the fourth stage, and the Jalandhara stage is the fifth stage, so the inconceivable stage becomes the sixth stage. If the treasure vase filling stage is the third stage, then how can it be said that "the fourth stage called treasure vase filling is also mentioned"? There is no fault, because the treasure vase filling stage itself has the four mudra stages, so it refers to the fourth stage of the treasure vase filling, not the treasure vase filling as the fourth stage. Therefore, the so-called "second stage of self-blessing" refers to the second stage in which self-blessing has two stages of general and detailed explanation, not self-blessing as the second stage. Second, there are two: indicating that the co-emergent wisdom must be generated, and indicating the method of generating that wisdom. First, like moving a torch, the mind with the appearance of shaking without stopping for a moment is very attached to objects such as form and sound, and it must be liberated from that attachment to realize the unspeakable meaning, which is the teaching to the disciples. Among them, the unspeakable is not to be explained as the mind is like a tangible thing that cannot be grasped, but refers to the nature of the mind, as experienced by non-discriminating wisdom, it is unspeakable to express and interpret with verbal discrimination. What is to be realized is that the meaning of suchness is truly realized with the great bliss of co-emergent wisdom, so it is said to be unspeakable, not that it cannot be interpreted at all. The meaning of the first two lines, in general, is to describe the state of the mind's agitation, but it is not aimed at the mind of the qualified practitioner who enters the completion stage, because that is the ultimate of the first stage.

Therefore, one enters the Completion Stage. When entering the Completion Stage, it is not the case that the mind has become a slave to distraction, so that it cannot abide even for a moment. In the Sadhana of the Five Deities of Drilbu Zhap it says, "Thus, by meditating with reverence and without interruption, the mind becomes stable, and one should meditate on the Samadhi of the Completion Stage." Therefore, for such scriptures, one should know the order of explanation, considering the main disciple for whom it was spoken, who possesses all the qualities. If one does not understand this, and instead explains it based on how Samadhi arises in our own mindstreams, know that one will greatly deviate from the meaning of the scripture. If one has obtained a special Samadhi in the Generation Stage where the mind is well stabilized, then when entering the Completion Stage, one can prevent the mind from running after objects. Merely being able to keep the mind wherever one places it for a long time is something that has already been obtained in the Generation Stage, so stopping at just that is not the meaning here. So, how does one prevent the mind from running after objects by meditating on the Completion Stage here? This is, as will be explained below, in the important places of the body such as the heart, by pressing the channels on the Avadhuti (藏文:ཨ་བ་དྷཱུ་ཏཱི,梵文天城体:अवधूती,梵文罗马拟音:avadhati,汉语字面意思:离垢者) channel, one prevents the mind from running after objects by preventing the flow of the solitary hero's winds. Therefore, by holding the mind inward and cutting off dullness and excitement through mindfulness and awareness, one must clearly distinguish that this is different from merely cultivating non-conceptualization where the mind can stay wherever it is placed. This also depends on being skilled in common Samadhi, and especially on being skilled in how Samadhi arises in the first stage. Therefore, some Lamas, when initially giving blessings to students, say that the mind is always running after all objects like a moving torch. If one does not turn it back from objects, Samadhi will not arise, so one must abandon attachment to those objects. So, they say, "Children, think about what object you are attached to." Then, they establish that the object of attachment is without inherent existence, and thus have the disciple place their mind slightly on selflessness. Those people understand the meaning of that verse in that way.
