One should not consider the alaya-vijñana, which is different in essence from the mind consciousness, as originating from other schools. In the 'Rong Translation' it says: 'Place the five consciousnesses corresponding to the eye, ear, nose, tongue, and skin on the mind of the nature of alaya-vijñana, making these five consciousnesses truly abide and unmoving, and placing the mind in the heart, it will transform into the shape of a bindu. From seeing that, wisdom arises.' Here, the word 'of' should be changed to 'is'. The word 'mind' in 'the mind of the nature of alaya-vijñana' summarizes the above content, which is very good. From 'the five consciousnesses' to 'unmoving', and from 'therefore' to 'should not be moved', all seem very good. From 'the mind is placed in the heart' etc., to 'the shape of a bindu' etc. are all good. From 'from seeing that, wisdom arises' etc., to 'if one constantly and immovably observes, then the wisdom of the Buddha will arise' seems very good. The so-called 'placing the shape of a bindu at the junction of the heart' refers to placing the center of the white and red bindus joined together in the central dhati of the heart chakra with the shape of a mantra bindu. The so-called 'in one' refers to preventing the mind from scattering to other objects from that single object of focus, the bindu. Thus, constantly, that is, continuously and unchangingly, from the object of focus, the bindu, the mind does not move elsewhere, but observes the bindu itself. By the key point of the wind and mind entering as one, where the mind grasps, the breath also follows. The left and right breaths enter the dhati, and then no longer exit or enter, but abide within the dhati. Then they dissolve into it, and from this, the co-emergent wisdom that leads to Buddhahood arises, and then gradually the state of Buddhahood is achieved. At this time, visualize on the moon in the heart, which is transmitted from Pamtingpa, the essence of the mind consciousness, a red bindu the size of a mustard seed. Hold the mind on this, making it stable, and from this bindu radiate light. The essence of the five sense consciousnesses, white, black, yellow, red, and green bindus, are visualized in the two eyes, two nostrils, the space between the nostrils, the root of the tongue, and the tip of the sexual organ, respectively.

It is said that one should practice and hold the mind. In general, writing letters on the doors of the eyes and so on, and then meditating on blocking those holes and holding the mind, it is said in Manne (a Tibetan medical book) that this can reverse the sensory winds inward. Here, meditating on bindus at the sensory doors is also merely a method to reverse the sensory winds inward. However, the intention of this treatise is to focus the mind on the mantra bindu in the heart. Thus, not only in the Abhisamayalankara, but also in the Mahamudra Bindu, it is highly praised to strike the key point in the heart. It says: "If the air wheel abides, then there is no air mother or sleep mother. The right and the left, rotate extremely on the wheel. Those two enter the abdomen, from this arises supreme bliss. In the bliss, the great seal, will undoubtedly be attained." It also says: "The wheel is also known in the heart." It says that the place of the wheel is in the heart, and the place of the air wheel is between the eyebrows, where there is no air mother, and the place of the wheel has the sleep mother. The so-called sleep mother is the non-conceptual mother, in the dhūtī (Sanskrit, Roman transliteration) in the heart, the sleep mother surrounded by the knots of the left and right ro rang (Sanskrit, Roman transliteration) channels, from which arises supreme bliss, and after attaining bliss, one can undoubtedly attain the great seal of indivisible bliss and emptiness. In the Bindu of Liberation, it is also highly praised: "That clear, indestructible bindu form, the size of a mustard seed, five rays of light blazing and dripping, possessing this aspect, constantly abides in the center of the heart. By looking at it, great wisdom arises, in an instant the yogi, blazes this without doubt." It says that great wisdom is innate wisdom. Thus, the way in which experience arises from familiarizing oneself with focusing on the mantra bindu is: is it merely the non-conceptual state in which the mind abides? Or, as many predecessors have said, does bliss arise first, and then non-conceptuality arises in dependence on it? It should not be so. One must be skilled in the way of focusing on the key points that rely on the dhūtī (Sanskrit, Roman transliteration), and from the beginning of practice, one must first know the three ways of air entering, abiding, and dissolving, such as the left and right air entering the central channel, and from this, the reasons for generating the four joys and four emptinesses. For details, see the Guhyasamaja.
