Also meditate on the protective circle. The method for this, according to its commentary, is that at the same time as making the sound of cymbals with the thumb and forefinger of the left hand, in the leftward direction starting from the east, visualize the four natures of blue, green, red, and yellow arising from the four mantras. And at the same time, below, visualize the ground of various vajra natures arising from Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽). Then, from its rays, above, visualize a net of vajra arrows, a vajra tent, and a canopy. It is also said to visualize a vajra fire encircling. This comes from the oral instructions of Lūipa and is the teaching spoken by Lāvapa. Regarding this, the Nepalese Kṣāntiśrī says that the rest is the same as before, but after meditating on the enclosure and tent, recite the four mantras and strike the cymbals in all directions to drive away the malevolent forces. It is said that one should believe that all beings are free from obstacles in every way. It is also said that this is the method of condensing the protective circle, and that both the method of commentary and the method of explanation are the meaning of this tantra, so it is good. Thus, among the three protective circles explained, the first is explained in the commentary on synonyms as being common to the fifty-six methods of accomplishing Hevajra explained in that tantra. It seems that the intention of the tantra is that it can also be used for the five deities and the solitary hero of the body mandala. Therefore, the extent of the protective circle does not depend on the number of deities, nor is it that the body mandala does not need to meditate on the protective circle. Therefore, Maṇakaśrī also explains a medium-sized protective circle for the two-deity body mandala. Therefore, if one knows these three methods of the protective circle well, one will know how to expand it according to the occasion and need, and if one wants to condense it, one must be certain, otherwise there will be a situation where the ritual is not explained, so it is explained here. The second has two parts: explaining the protection of the enclosure, etc., and explaining the striking of obstacles with the phurba, etc. The first has two parts: explaining the order of meditation and explaining the meaning of the mantras. The first is: after meditating on the seventeen deities, at the end of purifying the aggregates, etc., one should visualize the vajra tent. This is a brief statement, which is a general name for the common protective circle, named after one of its aspects. This term appears frequently in Yoga Rosary and others. In the translation of the Great Translator and in the commentary of Jowo, the phrase "vajra wall" appears, which means that the net has become a wall.

Now it is an uncorrected version. The two words 'tent' and 'net' have the same Sanskrit equivalent, so two translations have appeared, but if translated as 'tent', the possibility of error is less. In the commentary of Lavapa and Prajñārakṣita, it says: From 'to be placed in the east and other directions, this is necessary' to 'is the vajra's upper garment', these seven sentences should be explained like a mantra. The seven sentences that appear in it are: each mantra is placed in four directions, there are four in total, and there are three remaining phrases. First, with the thumb and index finger of the left hand, strike the cymbals in each direction, reciting first: Oṃ sumbhani sumbha hūṃ hūṃ phaṭ (藏文:ༀ་སུམྦྷ་ནི་སུམྦྷ་ཧཱུཾ་ཧཱུཾ་ཕཊ།,梵文天城体:,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ sumbhani sumbha hūṃ hūṃ phaṭ,汉语字面意思:嗡,桑巴尼,桑巴,吽,吽,啪), corresponding to the east; Oṃ grihṇa grihṇa hūṃ hūṃ phaṭ (藏文:ༀ་གྲིཧྞ་གྲིཧྞ་ཧཱུཾ་ཧཱུཾ་ཕཊ།,梵文天城体:,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ grihṇa grihṇa hūṃ hūṃ phaṭ,汉语字面意思:嗡,格里赫纳,格里赫纳,吽,吽,啪), corresponding to the north; Oṃ grihṇāpāya grihṇāpāya hūṃ hūṃ phaṭ (藏文:ༀ་གྲིཧྞཱ་པ་ཡ་གྲིཧྞཱ་པ་ཡ་ཧཱུཾ་ཧཱུཾ་ཕཊ།,梵文天城体:,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ grihṇāpāya grihṇāpāya hūṃ hūṃ phaṭ,汉语字面意思:嗡,格里赫纳巴亚,格里赫纳巴亚,吽,吽,啪), corresponding to the west; Oṃ ānaya ho bhagavān vajra rāja hūṃ hūṃ phaṭ (藏文:ༀ་ཨཱ་ན་ཡ་ཧོ་བྷ་ག་ཝཱན་བཛྲ་རཱ་ཛ་ཧཱུཾ་ཧཱུཾ་ཕཊ།,梵文天城体:,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ ānaya ho bhagavān vajra rāja hūṃ hūṃ phaṭ,汉语字面意思:嗡,阿纳亚,霍,巴嘎万,瓦吉拉,拉扎,吽,吽,啪), corresponding to the south. In order, they are black, green, red, and yellow, extending from the Brahma world above to the golden earth below, and the great blazing bodies should be arranged in order. Etc., the word 'etc.' encompasses the other three directions. All three commentaries explain the method of placing in directions in the same way. Although it is not explicitly stated whether the four very large bodies are the bodies of deities or mantras, Lavapa says after placing them in directions as before: 'From the rays of the mantras such as sumbha, there are four fences of that color.' The other two commentaries also seem to have the same meaning. In this way, contemplating the four fences of that color arising from the rays of mantras such as sumbha, is because they arise from the arrangement of the four mantras, therefore, the four very large blue etc. bodies are the bodies with mantra rays. That is, first recite the mantras, placing the four mantra colors in the four directions. Then, from there, emanate rays, placing the four large bodies of rays. Then, from that which has completely become mantra rays, contemplate a square fence of four colors. In 'Eliminating Errors' it says: 'By reciting the four mantras, forms of very great and blazing light emanate from black, green, red, and yellow, extending from the Brahma world to the underground, arranged in order in the east, north, west, and south, its rays'
