以如是方式修习四字之义,在观修自身为本尊的身体清净之前宣说,与从其他经论中所说的修习Śūnyatājñānavajra(藏文:ཤཱུ་ནྱ་ཏཱ་ཛྙཱ་ན་བཛྲ།,梵文天城体:शून्यताज्ञानवज्र,梵文罗马拟音:Śūnyatājñānavajra,空性智金刚)的明咒之义相同,因为“ཧེ”和“རུ”的含义是Śūnyatā(藏文:ཤཱུ་ནྱ་ཏཱ།,梵文天城体:शून्यता,梵文罗马拟音:Śūnyatā,空性)的含义,“ཀ”的含义是Jñāna(藏文:ཛྙཱ་ན།,梵文天城体:ज्ञान,梵文罗马拟音:Jñāna,智慧)的含义,“ཤྲཱི”的含义是Vajra(藏文:བཛྲ།,梵文天城体:वज्र,梵文罗马拟音:Vajra,金刚),即如金刚般不可分离的含义的缘故。 因此

Therefore, it is called 'Ka'. Thus it is said. Its meaning is: 'He' refers to the selflessness of phenomena, and 'Ru' refers to the selflessness of the individual, which are the two types of selflessness of objects; 'Ka' refers to the wisdom of the subject; and 'Śrī' indicates that these two are inseparable. Among these, becoming the wheel of Heruka and others is generation. Generating the mandala of the holder and others from becoming the source of all practices of Heruka and others is: the mind that constantly abides in one's own heart, which is 'He'. Because that cause is empty due to being established by its own nature, therefore the nature of that cause is unobservable, which means abandoning the cause or the meaning of emptiness of cause. Although the word 'etc.' does not appear here, it is like appearing in many other places, referring to the selflessness of both one's own nature and the result. Or, the word 'etc.' also applies to the first word, so it refers to the emptiness of the cause that arises first. Like the first, it refers to all phenomena of aggregates and sense bases; like the latter, as stated in the Root Wisdom: 'If the compounded is not established, how can the uncompounded be established?', with such reasoning, all phenomena of compounded and uncompounded are established as selfless. The conceptual thought that focuses on the individual and grasps it as self, truly establishing it with the great net that binds to samsara, which is being separated from the establishment of the imputed self, is the meaning of the letter 'Ru'. The state of such an object, and the way of holding that very reality, the wisdom that cannot be separated, is the meaning of 'Ka', because the mind that enters that very reality does not abide in any target of truth. Thus, just as there is not even a little bit of something that is truly established on any object, similarly, the mind also abandons the target of true grasping, and the two merge into non-dual wisdom like water poured into water, is the meaning of the letter 'Śrī', which is the meaning of 'E-vaṃ', the inseparability of skillful means and wisdom. Meditating on the meaning of the four letters in such a way, it is said before purifying the body by meditating on oneself as the deity, which is the same meaning as meditating on the meaning of the mantra of Śūnyatājñānavajra (Tibetan: ཤཱུ་ནྱ་ཏཱ་ཛྙཱ་ན་བཛྲ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: शून्यताज्ञानवज्र, Sanskrit Romanization: Śūnyatājñānavajra, meaning: Emptiness, Wisdom, Vajra) as said in other scriptures, because the meaning of 'He' and 'Ru' is the meaning of Śūnyatā (Tibetan: ཤཱུ་ནྱ་ཏཱ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: शून्यता, Sanskrit Romanization: Śūnyatā, meaning: Emptiness), the meaning of 'Ka' is the meaning of Jñāna (Tibetan: ཛྙཱ་ན།, Sanskrit Devanagari: ज्ञान, Sanskrit Romanization: Jñāna, meaning: Wisdom), and the meaning of 'Śrī' is Vajra (Tibetan: བཛྲ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: वज्र, Sanskrit Romanization: Vajra, meaning: Vajra), which is the meaning of being inseparable like a vajra. Therefore,

In the "Dispelling Errors," it says: Manifesting the meaning of the four syllables, instantly abandoning the ordinary pride from emptiness, it is good as stated in the scriptures, with the pride of the wisdom mother and two hands. Some people prioritize purifying the body first, and then purify speech and mind later, which means they have not understood the meaning well. Therefore, the order should be as stated in the three commentaries and the "Dispelling Errors." The necessity of contemplating the meaning of the four syllables is to purify the mind from the defilement of dualistic conceptualizations that cling to subject and object. Then comes the yoga of purifying the body: From emptiness, visualize oneself as Heruka, with a blue body, one face, two hands holding a vajra and bell, sitting with the right leg extended. With the mind of benefiting and bringing happiness to all sentient beings, recite three times "ཤྲཱི་ཧེ་རུ་ཀོ྅ཧཾ་(Tibetan, श्री हेरुकोऽहम्, śrī heruko'haṃ, glorious Heruka I)." In Lawapa's commentary, it is said to be with a consort, in Prajñārakṣita's commentary, it is said to be optional, with or without a consort, while in the "Dispelling Errors" and "Clarifying Distinctions," it is said to be with a consort. Some Tibetan lamas only practice the single father aspect, but according to Lawapa's view, it is only complete with a consort, which should be well understood. Adding "ཨ་ཧཾ་(Tibetan, अहम्, aham, I)" after the four syllables is because the coemergent mind that enters emptiness abides in the meaning of the four syllables, and this itself manifests as the two-handed form. Therefore, the previous one was just the wisdom of emptiness, while here it is the manifestation as the form of Heruka, which is the union of the two. In the other two commentaries, it is said that for the benefit and happiness of all sentient beings, one should hold the pride that includes the four syllables. If one recites the pride three times with the mind of benefiting all sentient beings, as stated in the "Clarifying Distinctions," it would be good. Previously, when contemplating the meaning of the four syllables, the commentaries did not add "ༀ་(Tibetan, ओम्, om, Om)" at the beginning and "ཨ་ཧཾ་(Tibetan, अहम्, aham, I)" at the end. The necessity of purifying the body is, as stated in the scriptures, to purify all actions of the body, which is to purify the ordinary actions of the body. All beings have also been accomplished since beginningless time, and they also symbolize the form of Heruka, which is completely pure in nature. As stated in the scriptures, the "Clarifying Distinctions" says "accomplished since beginningless time," while the form is translated as nature and manner in the other two commentaries. The meaning is Heruka and sentient beings
