Regarding the tantras and other reliable Indian treatises where it is not clearly stated, and there are many instances of establishing letters and the like to represent the bardo immediately after rising from meditating on emptiness, it is very difficult to understand. In the Compendium of Principles, the second chapter is the chapter on the generation stage, in which, without directly explaining the generation stage, after clearly explaining the three objects to be purified: birth, death, and bardo, it says: "Knowing the order of the arising of existence, for the sake of attaining perfect Buddhahood, this is what is taught by those who know all the aggregates, by those who speak of that." This means that the three objects to be purified mentioned above, after knowing the order of the arising of existence, are taught by those who practice in accordance with it, for the sake of attaining Buddhahood. The actual generation stage will be explained in the thirteenth chapter. If we take the example of taking birth in the womb, then immediately after rising from the clear light of death, the bardo arises merely from the wind-mind of the clear light, possessing all faculties, and just as the subtle body, empty of flesh and bones, is achieved unimpededly, similarly, in the first stage of the path, through the previously mentioned stages of absorption, which are similar to the clear light of death, immediately after rising from absorption into the clear light of emptiness, the body of nada, which is similar to the bardo, is achieved, therefore, the nada is placed in the sky. Regarding this, although it is clearly stated in the Guhyasamaja Arya tradition that Vajradhara is generated from the five manifest enlightenments as a symbol of the bardo, in other tantras such as Chakrasamvara and Hevajra, the symbol of the bardo is somewhat unclear, but it is symbolized by letters. Moreover, in the Manngak Nyema, it says: "Similar to the state of the existence bardo, in some cases, in the state of the seed letter contained within two red ཧོཿ (Tibetan, Devanagari: हो, Romanized Sanskrit: ho, Literal Chinese meaning: ho), or in the state of three letters, or in some cases, only nada, all three of these are for the purpose of generating body, speech, and mind. The samadhi of emptiness is after death, the form of the letter, and the form of nada that summarizes it, are explained in other tantras. The letters such as seed letters and nada are the source of deities that can generate various forms. Because the gandharvas are also the form of existence that will appear in various forms."

Thus, regarding the letters symbolizing the bardo, some treatises say that the seed syllable is contained between the two letters (Tibetan: ཧོཿ), some treatises say that there are no two letters (Tibetan: ཧོཿ), but only about three letters, and some treatises only say (Tibetan: ནཱ་ད་). This is a very abbreviated way of saying it, because the forms of future sentient beings are various, so the letters symbolizing it are also said to be various. Among them, there are many cases where the seed syllable is contained between the two (Tibetan: ཧོཿ) letters. As it says in the Ornament of Clear Realization: "On the moon disc in the heart, the seed syllable is (Tibetan: མཾ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: मं, Sanskrit Romanization: maṃ, literal meaning: mam), together with the two (Tibetan: ཧོཿ), contemplate it after it has been previously accomplished." Thus, in the practice of Hevajra Peaceful and Wrathful, it is also said that only one (Tibetan: མཾ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: मं, Sanskrit Romanization: maṃ, literal meaning: mam) syllable is placed between the two (Tibetan: ཧོཿ) letters. There are also many cases where only one (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, literal meaning: hum) syllable is placed. If these letters are placed in the sky immediately after arising from emptiness, then the letters symbolizing the bardo will be easier to determine. If this is not done, but gradually perfected from (Tibetan: ནཱ་ད་) to (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, literal meaning: hum), or perfected into (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, literal meaning: hum) all at once, it is very difficult to determine, even if the meaning is there. In this way, through the power of practicing in this way on the path of the generation stage, what kind of special samadhi will arise in the completion stage? This is to generate the illusory sambhogakaya from the co-emergent clear light wind-mind in the second stage. Therefore, this can also be called the method of taking the bardo sambhogakaya into the path. Although some people who know how to apply it slightly appear in the practice of the generation stage, because they have not formed the concept of how to do it in the second stage based on this, it seems that they have not understood the meaning of the tantra, so it should be carefully examined. The first step of this requires practicing a practice that is in accordance with the bardo, which can be achieved through the Compendium of Ascensions, and as previously stated in Hevajra Peaceful and Wrathful, it is not only for its necessity, but also symbolizes others, which can also be achieved from the Ornament of Clear Realization. Even so, from the wind to the lotus and various vajras, the practitioners do not have a practice that is in accordance with the bardo, and even if it is placed after that, it is very difficult to realize unless the faculties are very sharp, and it is very consistent with the practice foundation of immediately achieving the bardo at the time of death, and it is also relatively easy to realize, which was made by Lawapa.
